Watched the first episode of Watamote today. I thought it would be right up my alley, but I didn't laugh even once. Lame.

Then I switched to Ballad of a Shinigami. Seems half decent so far. First episode was simplistic, but I'm wiling to try the second. Could be interesting.

The series seems to be the "just before death" vignettes from Valkyrie Profile set in modern Japan, and a bit more sentimental. No coincidence. Momo is also a flying white-haired death goddess, and at the end of the episode she appeared in a weeping lily meadow!

I do. I just don't think that anime characters have real problems.

This isn't true though. It's actually very inaccurate. You would know that if you actually watched it.

That whole fapping scene towards the end of the series really came out of left field.

So, you just want him to be an emotionless male that tries to sex up every female he gets the chance to? You do realize that SO many anime already do this, and you could get your fill of it anywhere. Eva actually offers something unique that you can't find elsewhere. If you are a fan of anime, you should really try to sit down with this one, perhaps with less expectations, and just take in what it offers.


Anyways, started watching Madoka Magica. I didn't expect to like it too much, but it was recommended... and I'll be dammed if I'm not hooked on the show. Had to stop after episode 4, but will be finishing that up shortly.

I love the movie Ah! My Goddess. Let me know how the book is please!

I just finish the 1st chapter (out of 4 chapters plus 3 additional chapters) today and onto the 2nd chapter as I am writing this. I won`t say much till I finish the book completely and have some time to think about it. All I can say is the book isn`t hard to read and can be finish in a day if you have nothing to do but to read a book.

If you want to, I can give you a very detail idea of what happened in the 1st chapter but be warmed, they will be spoiler. If you don`t mind, continue to read below.

Prologue brief description

The prologue basically introduce Keiichi trying to fix his bike when he broke his screwdriver. He was depress about it and return back home where he met Skuld who was going out to buy her manga book (those teenager romance manga stuff). Couple things happens when Keiichi try to hide the broken screwdriver which piss off Skuld to the point she will tell on him to Belldandy as a way to get him to tell her what he was hiding. When Keiichi tell her about the broken screwdriver, Skuld just tell him she will lend her but he refuse, explaining how special it`s to him (dude, it`s a screwdriver.....get over it). This make Skuld say the same thing (it`s a screwdriver....nothing special about it unless you use it to make love with it) and she went out to buy her romance manga.


Chapter 1 brief description

The 1st chapter started where Keiichi was waiting for Belldandy, who was making him a European breakfast. Couple of discussion about the food and how to eat it between Keiichi and Belldandy and then the phone ring. Belldandy went to pick up the phone and it was Skuld on the other side of the phone.

Fast backward 2 days, Skuld got a phone call by Peorth to come back to Yggdrasil (if you don`t know this place, you should watch the show) where they`re having issue with bug in the system and Peorth want Skuld to come back to fix this issue asap, which she did.

Fast forward to the present, Skuld was crying to Belldandy over the phone of not able to fix the problem and wish she can get help from Urd to try to fix this massive bug issue. Unknown to Skuld, Urd was listening in and basically tell her she will pass helping Skuld with the problem, ending any chance for any help now. Both Belldandy and Urd was discussing about this issue that Belldandy forgot that Keiichi just left and hurry finish making his tea.

Outside, Megumi just came to the temple as her bike have a flat tire. She ask Keiichi for a ride to her class as she won`t able to get there now. At first, Keiichi can`t as he have a job to go to but after he found out the class Megumi was suppose to go to, he agree to take her there. He told Belldandy about this and felt sorry that he won`t able to finish the breakfast but don`t mind if she can make one which she agree. Both Keiichi and Megumi left the temple to the college. They almost make it when Keiichi saw a bug on the street and try to avoid hitting it. Unfortunately, he turn too tight and got hit by a truck, killing him but manage to save his sister from sudden death from the accident.

Back at the temple, Urd got a call from Peorth that shit have hit the fan on Yggdrasil and she need to set up a shield around the temple as the they`re sending all the people on the Yggdrasil down to earth. Urd and Belldandy manage to get the shield up just in time around the temple. Skuld and Peorth was one of the survivor that manage to get back to earth. All 4 goddess discuss of what just happens in the dinning room. Basically, Yggdrasil just went out of control and is starting to crash. If it crash completely, the heavenly realm will be destroy. Just you think it doesn`t get even more worst, Belldandy got a phone call inform her that Keiichi is dead from the accident. The news just make her crumble from the shock that her love one is dead.

Unfortunately, she didn`t have the time to mourn Keiichi death as they have a bigger issue to worry (the destruction of Yggdrasil). Urd think that Keiichi was the main trigger of the bug in the system and his death was the main starting point of Yggdrasil going out of control (this go on for a bit in detail in the novel). All 4 goddess realize that the only way to save Yggdrasil is to reset Yggdrasil to the point where the problem is started (basically, the point where Belldandy met Keiichi for the 1st time). They discuss more about this but in 101 cheat note, if you reset the system, you will wipe out the memory of what just happen with Belldandy and Keiichi in the past so many years (3 years based on what people say).

Skuld produce a machine (if you call that) and all 4 goddess try to help her with the system restore program as the people of the Yggdrasil are disappearing from the crash. Skuld manage to did it in time as the other 3 goddess gave they live away for her.

Now, flashback to the time where Keiichi was back at the college residence dorm. Don`t need to go into detail if you saw the show. Basically, it repeat what happens from the show on book forum. Keiichi pick up a phone and Belldandy voice say about the Goddess hotline and she came out from the mirror which scare him to death. He make a wish which trigger Belldandy to be with him and both of them got kick out of the dorm.

What is different now is when Keiichi was about to take Belldandy out to find a place to stay, Urd stop them. Belldandy didn`t know Urd was on Earth and introduce Keiichi to her order sister. Urd just give him a map which take him to the temple.

When they get to the temple, they met Skuld. At 1st she didn`t let Keiichi in but when she saw Belldandy, she threw her around her. Belldandy have no clue of why her younger sister is on earth but when Urd came back, she ask them to come on in to the dinning place.

In the room, Belldandy was making some tea and from there, Keiichi start noticing something wrong with the situation he was in. He saw a picture of him with Belldandy, Skuld, and Urd except that he didn`t took the picture at all. Starting to freak out a bit, Urd take him to his bedroom and from there all his stuff at his dorm few hours ago is now in his new bedroom. He can`t take all this in enough and just faint from this.

At the dinning room, Urd explain what just happen and why she ask Belldandy and Skuld to come to the temple. She explain about the situation of the Yggdrasil and how it was reset back to the original point which also mean they memory have been reset.....except for Urd. For this, Urd transfer they original memory they use to have to them and Belldandy was happy that Keiichi was alive and well. Unfortunately, this also mean Belldandy now know what will happen in the future as she live through it once and she was going to save Keiichi from getting into a situation where Keiichi can be in danger.

I will continue reading the entire book and maybe have a small discussion in this forum of what I think about it. Is they any more fans of the show here or people don`t like this series at all. When you think about it, the idea isn`t special in Japanese anime as it have been done over and over (sometime much better). Still, I kinda have a soft heart for this series (to the point I bought the OVA, Movie, and the TV series for my collection).
