For being illegal it's amazing how easily the past 20 years it has been obtained, safely, non-violently, for a nominal fee, by, uh, this one guy I know.
Btw i am thinking of moving to Singapore for a while. I love how their government treats smoking, drinking and littering on streets (i hate drunk ppl raging in public, litter and smoke). As a result Singapore is one of the most safe, clean and crime-free country. But.. 10 years in prison for smoking pot? It really makes me think twice. Here in Central Europe no one gives shit, not even the police or immigration officer, however, theoretically it's illegal. If the practice is similar in Singapore then i don't care. I could pass up with pot (i am a casual user btw) in exchange for the good things but still it's a bit fascist. Anyone from Singapore?

OMG i didn't even think of that! How would you get a sample without being to humiliating?
That is why I also said they will use a mouth swab test too.
Of course to determine if you were really under the influence ''while driving'' it might take a blood sample as the swab and urine sample can not tell the difference between the hour on the road or the past three weeks. But at least if you test negative on the simple test you won't get your blood drawn.
A lab urine test may also get down to parts per million to determine the amount in your system when you were pulled over, no matter what this will be complicated.
There are talks that the NFL may accept the use of medical marijuana, across the entire league.
1) The NFL's drug testing "policy" is a straight up joke. Fairly certain that most teams will allow a player to test positive three times before they're issued a warning (at least I heard that on OTL on ESPN).
2) Call me a conspiracy theorist (I'm not by the way) but there is an agenda behind this being so loud in the press. Groupthink is at work. This makes me worried about future employment practices.
With good representation, a company can fire anyone at anytime for any reason. But if someone does not receive employment or is fired due to a failed drug test, if the employee has a prescription, should they be able to sue the company?
How is this being settled in states that legalize medical and recreational use of pot? Can companies still say "I don't care if you have a prescription or not, we are a drug free facility"?
I'm fine with it being legal as long as they stay off the roads and there are plenty of restrictions to keep the peace. If it does go legal I am investing heavily in Frito Lay.
I don't (and haven't ever) smoke, drink or do any type of drug, so I may not really qualify to pass judgement here...
But I don't really see any harm in MJ legalization across the board. Alcohol is legal to purchase and consume "responsibly", and I have seen more lives ruined and more people act a fool or get into dangerous situations because of that, than I have ever seen from people who smoke up habitually.
Can both lead to dangerous situations and enable stupid people to be even more stupid when consuming more than the legal limit? Sure. But why is one okay and not the other? Would I be annoyed when people blow bud in my face when I walk by? Sure, but cigarette smokers already do that to me on a daily basis... so why would one be legal and the other not?
That is my overly simplified view on it, anyways.
It is also my opinion that it will be fully legalized ONLY when corporations and government settle behind closed doors how they can completely control the distribution of it, subdue the populations with it and wrangle all profit away from the common man by it's legalization. That is really the ONLY thing holding back it's current legalization. Just my pessimistic hunch though, dunno if that part is really being discussed.
