What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

If you were having a discussion about wages with someone and said "Yeah. Teachers are just like people who work at McDonalds" I'm fairly certain they'd look back at you with crossed eyes. Analogies are like jokes, they shouldn't have to be explained.

Moving on...

Smile: I was able to give a local restaurant a good review that I previously gave a negative review. They really turned their stuff around. Both the food and service were better than average which is quite the improvement as I previously found their food inedible.

Always worth giving something a second chance.

Glad to see you gave the Olive Garden a second chance.

My wife's Grandmother gave me a gift card to the Olive Garden last year because she knows I love "Italian food".

There is no other way to put it, the clientele there consisted of fat slobs. The food was gross, but I spent more time wondering what the average weight of their customers would be. 250lbs.? 275 lbs.?

Obviously my local franchise had to be taking a hit from their endless pasta promotion.

Olive Garden is to Italian food as Taco Bell is to Mexican food.

Am I right?

(I think I've eaten at either maybe once)

Smiled - Opened up a Wii box that we were given for a wedding present and I was planning on softmodding it last night. Turns out the present was a couple old books my wife loves, not a Wii. A second edition Black Beauty and a first Edition Pern book.

Ticked - Now I have to buy another Wii.

I voted for ALIEN, but no go. Everyone else wanted to see Oblivion. And these guys and gals aren't gamers so all my Sewer Shark references during the movie were only enjoyed by me.

Related to the food convo.... going out to eat with my parents is a pain in the ass, as all they seem to like is "safe American food."

We have some great restaurants here in Augusta (seafood, Thai, Mexican, whatever) but all my folks want is Ruby Tuesday/Applebees/Friendly's.... and yes, the Olive Garden.

I will admit that I'm going to Red Robin this afternoon. It's the perfect place to take out my baby. The service is extremely fast and it's so damn loud that no one will be able to hear her if she cries.

I have the same issue, but it also applies to friends. My friends only want to go to P.F. Changs....why I don't know, because the food is overpriced and complete crap. My brother and his family have a policy that is, "You should only eat at chain restaurants, because the food must be the best or else they wouldn't be so successful enough to be a chain."

Drives me crazy since where I am, we have amazing barbecue, amazing mediterranean, thai etc.... although our mexican food sucks!
