It's always been the same. There are always those who will bash any Nintendo console no matter what generation. Next console that Nintendo releases will be bashed by the same set of people. You can't get away from it. Nintendo does things differently, and people don't like that.

Let the children squabble over which platform is superior. The adults who are serious about their hobby just buy them all and appreciate them all for their individual strengths.
The whole situation isn't so much about bashing the wii in a week or 2 to it's 2nd year anniversary, which is by all intents about half life for a console, and there what maybe 10 serviceable games for the thing? The reason a lot of folks are mad(not just fanboy's) is because Nintendo used to have some sense of quality control on their systems, now they just let literally any piece of shit shovel-ware on the system. I mean go to a game shop and have hard look at the Wii section it's like looking at 100 different flash games they are trying to force feed the public at 49.95 a pop. I have a Wii, I like Nintendo, but it doesn't change the fact they foisted on us Gamecube with an over clock, and silly wand that actually inhibits play at least 1/2 the time, and they got us to pay $250 for it, some a lot more for those who couldn't wait. We are 2 years in and I have yet to see this system gain a single defining game or franchise yet, and Nintendo is pretty much catering exclusively to their new non-gamer crowd, which is fine for now, but the number show they have nothing in terms of game attach rates. Time will tell.

People should just chill and give this a rest.

The average Wii owner owns 3 games. 3! I have a buddy who rushed right out and got a Wii 2 years ago.

He hasn't hooked it up in over 6 months...

yeah, I mean, I've had a nintendo of every generation and have always loved it. We never had sega or sony, but the wii doesn't have hardly anything worth playing.

Saying that only the nintendo haters are bashing the wii is wrong. I love my nintendo stuff, but the wii just isn't doing it for me...

It is yet to dawn on many old-style gamers that since Nintendo had become so bitter over the course of the N64 and GC (in large part their fault) they decided to reinvent the market and take the lead from the get-go. Old-style games are a second priority. The company has changed, albeit not that much. What more people will possibly demand 5 years from now is better games, and the Wii then may have just done everyone good. But that's still one possibility among many.

I am not upset by shovelware...if you dont like it don't buy it
I am not upset because nintendo is going the way of family and children fun, which I think is nice and its sharing video game experience

I am upset because nintendo fooled us with their system!
They advertised it as the wiimote can be the next revolution. I thought we were giving HD graphics for motion control. I thought games will be Like NMH and red steel(but better) i had no idea games will be warioware, mario olympics, cooking mama, and a bunch of ports and remakes.

I am upset because the videogamers are not getting their high rated video games, except for few which are mario galaxy and metroid(zelda is on gamecube).

I went crazy after I found a wii to buy as a bundle with SS brawl for $300, I bought it in may, till this day I didn't buy 1 single game for the wii. There is nothing that makes you want to go out of your way to buy it and play. Resident evil 4 is one gamecube,pc,and ps2. Bully is on 360 ps2. There is only galaxy and metroid which I chose not to play now.

What makes me think a lot is, why is nintendo doing this?
They serve the shovelware market, they serve the family and children market, but they dont serve the "hardcore" market, I rather call them real players. Why not?
You are making ton of profit, you have huge user base, so whats stopping you?
developing for the wii is easier than ps3 and 360. Whats STOPPING YOU!?

hopefully the conduit will change things, otherwise I am selling my wii.
As far as I care, VC can be obtained free of the net, and on other consoles like xbox arcade and similar stuff. I am not going to miss the wii motion control , because its not even used!

you gave me hope, so I went to see the reviews on gamespot
and it appears to be like most of the other wii games

*remake-port of 90's arcade game
*gamespot gave it score of 6.5
*four scores on the main site are as the following: 2.5, 4.5, 7, 7

and they said it gets boring

Yes it is a remake of a 90s arcade game and yes it does have awful voice acting, but it provides a fantastic bit of fun for all ages. I have never really had a problem finding others who want to play Ghost Squad, or House of the Dead for that matter. The simple nature of the game is just fun to most people. It is approachable by nongamers, but still has the edge of difficulty for hardened players. I will agree that it is alittle on the long side (especially the third stage) but if taken in bits it is well worth it.

I bought the game the day it came out, bought two perfect shots the moment I saw them in the store, and have three different accounts at above level 50 (out of 99). So maybe my opinion is skewed severely, but I consider Ghost Squad one of the best intro games ever created.

My wii collection is ten or so. The obvious Zelda, Mario, and Brawl aside:
Alien Syndrome (a reinvision of an 80s arcade game) but a dynamite coop dungeon crawl. While we havent played it as much as Gauntlet Dark Legacy (there is a learning curve to the controls), it is alot of fun.
Kororinpa: Marble Mania - Marble Madness on crack, one of the most played games on the system in my house.
NiGHTS - Its enjoyable, pretty, and the music is soothing, so what if it is not as good as the original?
Warioware - Incredibly funny when played with the right group.

So what if the reviewers dont like the games? My friends and I have enjoyed each of them quite a bit. Heck Alien Syndrome was almost universally panned when it came out, but we logged an easy ten hours into it, enjoying the entire time.

Im going to agree with Nintendo lied to us I too thought this could change gaming brilliantly, revival of point and click games, first person sword orientaited adventures, FPS would be awsome, Rail shooters, Ports of old arcade rail shooters like Carnevil, Evil Night etc as well as hack and slash and rpg battle systems could be even more diverse.....No HD, Crap games as far as i see....im only getting one for a few titles iv wrote down on a list

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Nights: Journey Into Dreams
Zack and Wiki
Sam and Max: Season 1
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Madworld
Sonic Unleashed
Oopona (think thats how you spell it)

i hope 3rd party begins to help soon this console has so much potential *sigh*

Also im quite baffled why sega didnt put house of the dead 1 on the Wii house of the dead 2 & 3 game they released?
