I have been trying to 1cc this game for a while, playing on and off. This thread gave me new motivation. I finally did it, but did not get the top score. I love the end credits music.

Anyhoo, here is my score:

I've been trying figure out the best routes for each stage. Let's chat about it, eh guys?

Stage 1 - Route 2 is better by about 40k-50k. I was topping at ~165k with route 1, and the alternate lands me at about ~210k. It also gives you extra bomb and sometimes a shield.

Stage 2 - Sticking with the route 1 for now thanks to the coin rush and it being generally pretty easy. Still, I screw up on this boss so freaking much.

Stage 3 - I use route 1. I detest route 2 where you have to maneuver through the disintegrating blocks and fight the boss. Route 2 is also much shorter and you miss out on a lot of powerups and point items.

Stage 4 - Route 2 offers a massive coin rush, but the larger battleship form of Ostragle kicks my ass. I stick with Route 1 for the easier boss and the extra items.

Stage 5 - Not sure, haven't experimented. Opinions? Also this boss is a bitch.

Stage 6 - The midboss in route 1 here kicks my ass every time. I use two bombs on him or I get wiped up. Sad. I keep forgetting to try route 2 to see if I can sidestep this boss - has anyone tried it to see if you still have to fight him?

TBH I had no idea the routes affect your score.
I am kinda sick of looking at that game for about a week or so, haha.
I may try again going a different route.

Well, my HCG101 article on this game is up and I got my last (for now) all-clear the other night. No new high score, though. Time to retire this game for a bit!
