Made out of spare 2x4 and spare carpet when I was 14 or 15. :D

On the old forum I use to talk on, some one told me that the MIJ models were smoother at the ends of the spectrum. After messing with both for a while, I ended up selling the MIJ model and keeping my MIT model. My old Taiwan model was what I was use to hearing for so long, even if the MIJ model sounded better, it didn't sound "right" to me.

Ah, that's an easy fix. I believe that guitar has an input jack plate on the side, right? With four little screws? Just take the screws out and pull the jack out. If the jack is loose and it's been spinning, then you'd check for any busted wires or solder joints. But it probably just needs to be bent and/or cleaned and tightened up. You can bend the "arm" in a little more so it's a tighter contact with the plug. If your bridge is tarnished, there's no reason not to believe the input jack is the same. You might need to clean it up with some steel wool or similar if there's corrosion, or just some alcohol or contact cleaner. Tighten the nut up with a socket (while you hold the inside of the jack so it don't spin) and screw it back in.

lol, this video is basically everything I just said:

Ah, reminds me of the G&L Tele models that came out earlier this year. They're made in Indonesia, so they're a lot cheaper. But I got to try one out and they're really nice guitars.

It's actually not loose as in spinning, it's loose as in it barely holds the cable in place. The smallest tug will make the cable come out. And yeah the input jack is a little tarnished as well.

Ah, so you probably just have to bend the arm back in and probably clean it up too.

Input jacks usually don't have to be replaced, unless physically damaged.

Nerd out till your heart's content!

I'm known by my friends to be kind of a Schecter fanatic and I plan on making my first really BIG guitar purchase in mid 2014. Their lineup for next year is looking absolutely amazing, so much that I'm going to have some trouble deciding on what to get it looks like. XD

I'm not really a fan of the Avenger body. Not because of the body itself but because of the douchebag that everyone associates it with now. But I gotta admit

^That's an eyecatcher. I really hope they release a Banshee or C-7 with the same finish. That's pretty much exactly what I would put on a custom.

Sorry if this is a bit pic heavy. Weird I have so much guitar stuff even though I'm a drummer.

My Guitars:
* Fender MIM '06(?) Telecaster - My first new guitar. I beat the crap out of this one at shows.
* Gibson SG 1960's Tribute w/ p-90's - My first expensive guitar! My current favorite and I play it all the fricken' time.
* Gretsch Electromatic Duo-Jet - I bought with money I made from my amp repair shop.
* Fender MIM P-Bass - My ex got me this thing, but I love it anyway.
* OLP Musicman Singray Bass Copy - Not pictured as it's completely apart and I'm refinishing it.
* Also a pic of my roomate/bandmate's mid 60's Guild Thunderbirds. He may be one of a VERY small handful to own more than 1. He also has 2 Gibson Corvises (not pictured). They're not mine but I love em'!

My Amps (and 1 customer's)
* Fender FM212R - My first amp. Solid state, but I practiced my tolexing on it by making it seafoam green.
* Serenader - Nice lil' practice / solo amp that has unbelievable tone for singer/songwriter stuff.
* Custom built (by me!) Fender Champ copy with a 2x12 I designed. Loaded with pre-rola paper voice coil scumback speakers. This rig sounds AMAZING.
* 1976 Marshall Lead 100 Solid State. I got it in a trade in non-working condition for amp repair. Fixed it up and now I have a working version of the first solid state amp Marshall ever made. I mostly use as a bass amp.
* '72 Fender Bassman 50 which I am currently working on my own gain stage to use up the free triode in the bass channel. This thing has nasty bite and sounds like a 70's Marshall now.
* '68 Fender Bassman 50 - A customer's (also friend of a friend) which I added a master volume and reverted to mostly blackface AA165 circuit with Bias Adjust and no stupid output tube feedback loop.
* My current 4x12 build which I half-blind dovetailed and the cab from my friend's 68 bassman (stripped wood) plus mine (stock black)
* Old radio which I'm bootstrapping some tubes / redesigning circuit to turn into a custom practice amp.
* New 100W transformers for my first completely custom circuit for my amp company I'm starting. Going to try 6550's and give it a HIWATT / Mesa Mark 1 type sound.

Heck yeah! 8) I'm a sucker of vintage and natural type finishes. I'm drooling over your butterscotch tele. It's actually the guitar I wanted before I got my first telecaster.

AppleQueso - That Ampeg VH140C is gnarly! One of the best Solid States ever made and also one of the best metal amps. The dudes from Suffocation use that thing! Don't ever get rid of it, you'll probably never find anything that sounds quite like it.

Suffo's actually the reason I hunted one down! I'm definitely not ever getting rid of it. This thing rules, the amount of gain it has is absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine anyone ever needing the gain knob more than halfway up.

The reverb on mine is busted, but I never really used it anyways. Not sure what's wrong there.

Any of you guys have any experience with the Peavey 6505+?

I'm going to be trying one out soon. I'm mainly eyeballing it based on all the amp models I've ever tested on several amps and VST's. I always end up going with something cloning the 5150 or 6505 because I really love that midrange growl it gives me.
