My setup is dead simple.

My guitar is an LTD V-401FM, my amp is an Ampeg VH140c combo. I've no doubt that it would be perfectly fine in a live setting, but the 'scene' locally is kinda completely dead, so I've never really gotten to try it.

I love this guitar though. I previously had a V-250, which had a floyd rose, but I decided I wanted a bit of an upgrade and didn't want to have to get a new guitar case. I didn't want another floyd either, as I never used it and didn't want the headaches that come with setting those up and restringing them.

I've also got a no-name bass that's not worth writing home about. It plays fine and sounds okay, but I really wouldn't mind upgrading to a really nice one down the line.

I wouldn't mind getting a few more guitars or amps at this point. Not getting rid of this V though, not ever.

Currently I have a Jackson slsmg soloist with a fixed bridge and a Gibson J45 acoustic.

I sold my Mesa Boogie Rectifier stack years ago because it wasn't getting used after I stopped playing in my old band. I have a sweet little vox vt15 practice amp
That more than gets the job done. I will probably get a Mesa 2x12 unit if I ever start playing out again.

I've used almost nothing but an Ibanez ICX120 and a Marshall Valvestate 102R for like... gotta be going on 10 years now haha. The Ibanez pretty much looks new because I have taken really good care of it. The Marshall looks pretty rough though, it's seen some shit. The worst part is that there is a puke stain that simply will not come off the speaker. You can't really tell it's vomit residue but it makes it look pretty beat up.

Getting new gear is something I've always wanted to do, but I've just never had a good reason to. I love the way this setup sounds and it gives me exactly what I'm looking for. I don't record very often and my activity as far as performing goes has gone down significantly since my high school days, so yeah I've just never got an itch bad enough to buy new stuff to the point where I have.

I have always wanted a Jackson though, I'll probably get one someday.

I also have a cherry red Strat, an old school Takamine acoustic, one of those uncomfortable to play BC Rich guitars because why not, a cheap 5 string bass just to beat on, and a handful of random practice amps. If I'm ever filling in or doing a few gigs I typically use the Strat.

Yaaaaay guitar gear nerdery!

My stuff:
LTD EC-1000T/CTM - White
Epi Les Paul Classic Quilt Top - Black, modded w/ Dimarzio Super Dist in bridge, gold hardware, Grover tuners
Squier Fat Tele - Candy apple red, modded w/ Fender Noiseless in bridge
Squier P-Bass Special - Black w/ mirror pickguard
Yamaha FGX720SCA Acoustic/Electric

Jet City JCA22H with swapped out 12AX7s
Mesa Recto Standard Slant 4x12

Depending on what style I'm playing, I juice the amp up front with a Boss GE-7 for TS like midrange bite, throw in a modded MT-2 (gain down, level up, that's the way we likes to fuck) for extra hate if needed, or switch to just an HM-2 for sick Dismember/Entombed style tone.

Not playing out right now, but would be neat if I did. home office mosh ftw

^How's that Jet City treating you? I was thinking about getting one of those a while back for fun.

Alot more guitar players here than I thought, and alot of ESP fans. I've actually never played an ESP/LTD other than the F-50 (which sucked, but what do you expect for bottom of the line)

Also anyone here who has a Soundcloud/Youtube page showing their music or guitar stuff obviously feel free to post it.

AppleQueso: And that is one bitchin' V.

Also forgot to mention I have a Micro Cube as well which I never use. It's really just there for travel.

As for my wishlist, I'm wanting a Peavey 6505, and a Luna Dragonfly acoustic.

It's great, man. I used to have a JCM 800 2210 which never sounded good unless it was on, like, 11, so it was an excellent downgrade in wattage while keeping the same sort of sound. Definitely look into the 22H rather than the 20H, having that extra channel and the FX loop makes a world of difference as far as versatility goes.

But the 22H + pedals can give me pretty much any sound I'm looking for, from slightly dirty jangle all the way to ultra-sludge. Cleans aren't really it's thing, though.

I've actually been wanting to make a thread like this for a while now, I'm glad some one finally did!

I like Telecasters a lot too. And I absolutely LOVE the butterscotch with black pickguard look. The thing I don't like though is the vintage style bridge. The modern Tele bridge has a saddle for each string, you have better control over string height and intonation that way. Unfortunately, my Tele is a Squire. It's not all bad though, it's the 25th anniversary model and has amazing sounding pups. The neck is a humbucker, but it sounds more single coil like, and the bridge is an actual single coil but a little hotter than normal (because of the humbucker in the neck). It's well built, but like all my guitars, I need some money to fix it up. I need to pull the frets and level the fretboard, then it'll be great.

That's my current situation with pretty much every one of my guitars. For one reason or another, I need money to make them "right" and I don't have the money.

My current favorite guitar is my MIM Strat, it's just what I've been playing most of the time for the past few years. I put the Dimarzio (my new favorite pup manufacture) Area pickup set in it, so it sounds a LOT better than stock. I've also added a push/pull pot for a "neck on" switch. This gives you two more pickup combinations, all three pups and neck+bridge which is great because it sounds like a Telecaster. I'm at a crossroads with it though. What I really wanna do is build a custom Warmoth Strat, but I don't have the money. Normally I would just upgrade the MIM Strat (it really just needs a better bridge and some roller string trees) but it's still a 21 fret and I'd love to get the contoured neck heel I could get with a Warmoth or like they have on the new American Deluxe. The frets are also starting to get worn down a good bit because of its heavy use, so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

What has been my favorite guitar since I bought it in high school is my LTD MH-100. I love the M, but I hate reverse headstocks. The MH has the fast M neck, without a reverse headstock, and the H body. Awesome metal guitar. It's the base 100 model, but I actually like the way the basswood body sounds. It's light and has a "hollow" sound to it. The more expensive models are mahogany with maple tops - too muddy. I've upgraded mine with EMG 81s, and finally got a real Floyd bridge with a brass big block. This guitar screams, plays fast, I love it. The problem is I've played it too much, the frets are so worn down it's starting to have tuning problems. It needs a refret - something I'm still learning. I wont attempt a refret on this guitar until I'm perfectly confident at doing it (I'm practicing on junk necks).

I've fallen in and out of love with my LTD MV-200. The MV line was only around for a year or two. It has the M neck, and a unique strat style body. It's a short scale though. It gets great tone, although I don't like to use it for everything because of the shorter scale.

Then there's my SG, which is another of my favorites. It's an Epiphone, but with a few upgrades can be top notch. I've done so many pickup swaps in it, the screw holes for the PU rings are getting worn out lol. Right now I have a Dimarzio Super Distortion 2 in there, and I wanna get a PAF Pro for the neck but... no money. At least all this guitar needs is one pickup and it'll be all set.

Then there's my custom mongrel guitar. It's a parts job. I basically had two Frankenstein guitars that sucked, I used the neck from one and the body from the other to make something better. I have an Epiphone neck from I don't even know what. It's got a banana headstock, like an Explorer or something else. I was originally just gonna make something playable and not care so much, but I found out that the Squire Affinity Strat body I was using wasn't plywood like I thought. It's alder or ash I guess, but real wood. That being the case, I would wanna make it better than just playable. It's put together, but after doing some pickup swaps I found out what pickups I want in there. I just need the money to get them.

A friend moved out of state and left me his Epi LP, I don't plan on giving it back. It's my most put together guitar, and it's not even mine lol. I'm not a big fan of LPs, but I do like to play on them from time to time.

I recently got an Ovation Celebrity something or other, and I have a Fender 12-string acoustic that I wish was an Ovation instead.

Current amps are a small Fender combo I keep in my bedroom and a Marshall DSL with a 4x12 cab.

I'll try and take some better pics, but for right now, I actually have an old pic still on Photobucket.

Also found this on my Photobucket... http://s59.photobucket.com/user/Ziggy58 ... s.mp4.html edit: The deal with this thing is this: I use to talk on a now defunct forum. There was talk between the two different (made in Tiwain or Japan) Boss BF2 flangers, so after I got a Japan model I made a recording to show the difference. Decided to throw in the FLL too because we always talked about the coveted DFL. Recording sounds poor because I did it with an mp3 player and played like ass.

Sorry to bitch so much

(srs) I really like your guitar stand. :D

I went through the whole Taiwan/Japan debate when I was looking for my HM-2. All the stuff I read was like "no, you has to gets teh reals old Hevy Metahl pedahl from Japans to get teh Swedish sounds." But I was like, eh, idgaf. The Taiwanese gets me what I need for cheaper.

I also really want a Tele with black-on-butterscotch look for all my Springsteen worship.

Your post also reminded me that I need to do some work to my guitars. Electrosocket and new jack for the Tele, new strings and re-setup for everything except the LTD, which is my main. Blergh, too little time...

I agree with ya on that. I don't really wanna change the saddles because of the fact that it's a "Special Run" model and I don't want to detract from the value of it. This will not be the last T-Type guitar I buy I assure you :P

Check this beauty:

As far as work I've gotta do on my guitars, there are a few little things. There's a place where the finish is trying to chip on my Tele. One wrong move and I will accidentally chip it off. My local tech told me how I can patch that up, so I plan on doing that. My 7 String Schecter needs a new input jack and a new bridge. The input jack cuts out on me and is way too loose now, so I'd never use it in a live situation until I get that fixed. As far as the bridge goes, it's just a personal preference. The one I have is tarnished (I bought it used, so I don't know how it became tarnished) Other than that I'd say it's probably my best sounding instrument by far. It's got some serious balls to it. You can't see it because my strap covers it up but under one of the strap buttons the finish is cracked, so I'd like to at the very least patch that bit of it up.

Other than the input jack problem though nothing really serious.
