Exposed was the wrong word. Meant, "Highlighted" as he was good in them and he showed he could do a dramatic role.
Doesn't change the fact i'd rather see him be outstanding in a comedy as opposed to very good in a dark/sad drama.
Ah! That makes a lot more sense.
Not-funny Murray definitely isn't for everyone even if he gives a great performance. His performance in LOST IN TRANSLATION made me wonder if his role as an actor in the film was a play on words of the title. Very unfunny Murray made me feel a bit lost and it didn't translate well.
I agree with you on Life Aquatic, Mike. And blame Anderson's script... which is odd since he used Murray to such great effect in Rushmore and Royal Tanenbaums.
I haven't seen Broken Flowers (in full) so can't really comment there.
Broken Flowers isn't a Wes Anderson film, and really lacks the quirkiness of a his films, although I still did enjoy the film.
I for one love dry, serious Bill Murray just as much as I love whacky Bill Murray. They both work albeit in two opposite directions, but I do agree that it is not for everyone.
So I had to do a sleep study and found out that I do indeed have sleep apnea. O2 levels were at 86% and stopped breathing 58 times.
For Halloween I get a special mask...a CPAP!

Sorry I misspoke, I meant physical comedy. Not necessarily slapstick but that is the most obvious form.
Nah. GHOSTBUSTERS wasn't based on physical comedy, more on priceless unexpected turn of the curve moments. The movie made suspense the punchline, which was brilliant.
That being said, anytime I hear "What the hell are you doing?" in any context I can only burst out in laughter while thinking about the maid in GB.

I don't quite understand this. Could you elaborate a little? I really liked that movie.

Other than "Not-funny Murray definitely isn't for everyone even if he gives a great performance", I don't what else to say. Even if he's great, some people don't like him.
Smile: Received a call giving me the green light for a silly project/homage.
Confused: Well, I saw two squirrels getting it on today. That was a first.
Smile: Going to watch the World Series tonight with some pals. Yes, I bought hot dogs. Yes I bought Peanuts and Cracker Jacks. And yes, I bought some adult beverages.
Also, I already have a designated driver so I'll have a few brewskis at 5pm with ESPN's Happy Hour. I have jack squat to do tomorrow other than get my haircut, so it may be a late night.
Bonus smile: I've started working on my dummy for Halloween.
Ticked - Office is empty and I am stuck here for another five hours. And apart from one major project that I am waiting for a reply on to complete, I have ran out of stuff to do. But since our big boss is in the office I have to look busy. Good thing Spreadsheets and Word docs look busy when they are really about things for this site...
Smile - In talking to one of my friends earlier he expressed interest in a candy cabinet. I told him good luck and after a couple days he messaged me asking if I could build him one. I told him I can not since I do not work with molds that are that big, and even if I did it would not be cheap. But it got me thinking. I have access to a 4ftx4ft vacuum former at a friends house. I could in theory build a skeleton out of wood, and vacuum form sides and a top to make it into a quasi candy. Im thinking 4ft tall, 2ft wide, using either a CRT or LCD in either Tate or Yoko (no rotation), with hook ups below and above so you can swap out consoles easily. Each built for a single player, but with female hookups on the back so you can daisy chain. I could make them look kinda like a Minicute or small Madonna or ideally a small Aero City. And now there are scraps of paper all of my desk with measurements and design scrawled on them...
