yeah no kidding. I feel like the only way I'd get a Jaguar is if I found one at a yard sale super cheap. I just can't see spending the $ for so few games I'm interested in.

that's Alien Versus Predator. Just plain Alien. No S.

That's where I'm at too. Do I "want" an Atari Jaguar? Yeah, I suppose so. I also "want" an Atari 800 and Atari ST. But I'm not shelling out eBay/internet prices. I'm content with my 2600/5200/7800/Lynx set-up for now. btw there is an Alien Atari 2600 game!

you all need a Jaguar if only to experience the wonder of Tempest 2000 with a rotary controller. The experience is second to few, and is one of the main reasons to own a Jag.

So there's Alien Vs. Predator, Aliens Vs. Predator, and Aliens Versus Predator, right?

That's not confusing at all.

And that would be the other big game I'd want to check out the Jaguar for. That's not to say there aren't other Jaguar games I'd like to try(ports of Wolfenstein 3D, Raiden, Cannon Fodder, etc.), but I'm not really willing to buy the console for them.

Actually, it gets worse

Alien vs. Predator is used for the arcade game and for two disctinct mobile phone games released within three months of each other. A later mobile phone game called Alien vs. Predator 3D was also released, which was followed by Alien vs. Predator 2 2D.

Alien vs Predator is used for the SNES, Game Boy, and Jaguar games. All are different.

Aliens versus Predator was the PC game, but is also used as the title for an unrelated RTS game on PS2 and XBox.

Aliens vs. Predator was used for the PSP game as well as the most recent PC and console game.

well the PSP game at least had a subtitle to differentiate it. But yeah. Way too many games with the same titles in that series, which goes far beyond even what Ack pointed out.

@DSH: Didn't the PS1 have a spinner controller? Isn't Tempest X3 or whatever it's called on PS1 basically a port of the Jaguar game? I mean, yeah, those are the 2 games I'd really be wanting... but again, can't imagine paying for a console and finding room to keep it hooked up for two games.

There's the Namco Jogcon, but it may only work with Ridge Racer.

Negcon ftw! Much better support and control. I know the Jogcon supports V-Rally 2...not sure what else.

I had to look this up. The neGcon does work with Tempest X3, apparently. This means that, if you want more traditional "spinner" controls, then you can play it with the Ultra Racer.

But the thing is, you don't twist the Negcon or the Ultra Racer all the way around. I'm pretty sure it only pivots say 45 degrees to the left or right. The Jogcon does look like it spins freely around. A steering wheel that has stops is not the same as a spinner that you can spin forever in one direction to complete endless circles. This is like the difference between tennis and driving paddles (ironically named) on the 2600. I would not want to play Tempest with a steering wheel.
