some unreleased N64 games became Gamecube games, a few gamecube games became Wii games. the trends continues.AppleQueso wrote:Sounds about right. Nintendo was quick to kill off the Gamecube when the Wii launched as well, and I seem to recall something similar happening with N64.

well, NSMB Wii recently came down a bit in price, I'm sure SMG2 and RTD will come down too.Retrogamer0001 wrote:I can dream though, I can dream...though it is pretty likely that prices will stay relatively high until SMG3 and another Kirby game come out.AppleQueso wrote:Wii U still plays Wii games...Retrogamer0001 wrote:Well, hopefully now Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland will go down in price...
I'm waiting for those myself.

I wonder how much longer Nintendo will support the vc shop or online servers for that matter.

It's sad to see such an iconic console cease production. The reason I call it Iconic is because the Wii capture the hearts of old and young, and with a strong library this console accommodated all. One of the Things the Wii did single handily was revive the light gun games, I have enjoyed a lot of themed shooters such as:
Dead Space: Extraction
RE:Umbrella Chronicles
RE:Darkside Chronicles
House of the Dead Overkill
House of the Dead 2 & 3
Links Crossbow Training
Truly an amazing console.

I just thought of something... will Wii be able to stream Netflix forever ever, or is that dependent on Ninty's servers?

Re: Nintendo Wii Ceases Production
I hope so. I've got 2 Wii's in the house, and both of them are used for Netflix and Youtube more than for games in all honesty. Heck, I've considered buying more of them for other rooms. They make a really nice, cheap streaming media box. And if you soft-mod you can also add DVD playback. But yeah, if I won't be able to access Netflix/Youtube from a Wii in the near future... I'm gonna be miffed.ninjainspandex wrote:pretty sure its using Netflix servers same as using a tablet or smartphone.noiseredux wrote:I just thought of something... will Wii be able to stream Netflix forever ever, or is that dependent on Ninty's servers?
