Favorite Sega Systems Designs
Re: Favorite Sega Systems Designs
Wow, that black Dreamcast does look pretty good. Until I saw that one, I always thought white was the best color for the console.
Lemme see if I can get one...

Re: Favorite Sega Systems Designs
That's exactly why I don't like the Sega Sports one, lol. And they put it on the controllers as well.Aramonde wrote:It is pretty sexy in blacksp957 wrote: But... I love the black one much more (not Sega Sports one). And I know those are hard to get because they were limited in Japan or something. How come you don't like the Sega Sports version? Just because it has the logo on it?

That's so bad, it's good.
Spotted it out of the corner of my eye at a local flea market sale. I thought it was interesting enough to snap up for the equivalent of one whole dollar.

By the way, the animators of Regular Show seem to appreciate the design of the Sega Master System.
The SMS always looked like a 1980s stereo system to me. The black triangle reminds me of the "play" symbol on audio casette decks.
Re: Favorite Sega Systems Designs
Actually, I think that was the main reason why Sega designed it like that, I remember reading in a newspaper article dated from '86 or '87 that it was deliberately designed to fit in with a stereo setup.samsonlonghair wrote:The SMS always looked like a 1980s stereo system to me. I really like the design of the SMS as well; these are also my favorites:

Here's one I always drool over, but will never afford.

The Pioneer LaserActive with Sega Pak S-10 is the Genesis for men with more money than I'll ever have.

I got to play one of those the other day. Beautiful machine.
I wasn't entirely sure what a Sega Pico looked like so I checked them out on eBay. Pretty cute.

Speaking of badass,
this is what my first Laseractive Unit looked like. Courtesy of "badass" shipping.
