In the UK... And probably mainly from the price drop. Not WW HD. WW HD didn't even sell well in Europe from the numbers I've seen. It hasn't sold particularly well anywhere.

Wii U sales will certainly will pick up for the holiday season. And there are definitely some pretty good first party games on the way.

Sorry, didn't catch that. It's 200% in the US. Are there any world wide figures?

Finished ZombiU. It scared the hell out of me from beginning to end. I haven't had this much fun conserving bullets since the PSX dawning of survival horror.

I feel like, at almost one year in, there's still no reason for me to be excited for the Wii U. I have a Wii library of around ~50-75 games, almost all either exclusive or "best version" titles. I can't think of more than a half dozen Wii U games released/announced that have even interested me so far, and half of those have turned out to be panned critically.

When the Wii was almost one year in, how many released/announced games interested you? And how many turned out to be panned critically?

I say this because when the Wii first came out, there wasn't a lot of games for me. A lot of the ones that did interest me, it turned out that I didn't like them. It was about 2 years before I really started to get games that I enjoyed. And it wasn't until 2010 (four years) that I decided the Wii had a great library of games.

I bought a Wii a few months after launch iirc, and the novelty of the motion controls interested me at the time. I remember playing lots of Wii Sports and Super Monkey Ball mini-games with my family and friends, for one. As the system aged its library diversified, including plenty of games without motion controls for me to enjoy as well.

That's the thing: the tech is what sold the Wii, and the games followed because of the install base. For the Wii U, the games are going to have to sell it first and foremost, and that's not happening.

For all the flak Wii U is getting, who's to say the Xbone or PS4 won't suffer from the same problem? The launch titles of both aren't that great.. In fact I think the Wii U was stronger..

I guess the market will decide that, but there's a nice mix of new and old IPs at launch for both sytems...they also have the whole "early adopter"/"next-gen" thing going for them, which the Wii U really didn't

here's the two Wii U games that interest me:

Earthbound
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

...doesn't seem like I need a Wii U.
