Can you really blame them? It's not like being a contractor where you know you're only working a fixed time interval. They thought they would have a job as long as they were performing, find out they're going to get canned in several months, but they're still expected to work?fastbilly1 wrote:Ticked - we had a team get let go on 8/1 and they apparently found out about in late April and did nothing from April to August and said they were doing the work. I only recently got access to that database so I started handling issues and realized that they did nothing for two months so for the last four hours Ive been doing that groups job for my team. This is just a really bad joke.

What kind of chair?Luke wrote:fastbilly1 wrote: Smile - last night my wife came in and said "we have both had really bad weeks, I bought you something" and handed me Windwaker HD and Pokemon Y...
Coincidental: Last night my wife came home and said "I bought you a gift. It's in my car".
Immediately I smiled, my eyes widened, and I rushed to her keys and out the door. "What could it be?" I wondered. "Clothes? Shoes? A new laptop? That chair I've been talking about nonstop?".
And there, in her car was a push broom. It's a nice bristled wooden push broom with at least a three foot width, but it's still a push broom. Passive aggressive suggestions to sweep the deck stink.

Black leather lounger. There's also a black leather barber's chair that is chromed out and has a nice headrest...but I'm not crazy about the asking price. Either way I need a new gaming chair asap.

That reminds me, I have to sweep out the garage since we are going to pick up a console record player from one of her friends tonight. It needs some work, but we should be able to fix it. From what I was told it just needs new cones and a new cart, but we shall see.Luke wrote:fastbilly1 wrote: Smile - last night my wife came in and said "we have both had really bad weeks, I bought you something" and handed me Windwaker HD and Pokemon Y...

I should have added that they were all contractors. And in my mind yes, if you are pulling a paycheck, do your job. Or at the very least, dont lie about it.MrPopo wrote:Can you really blame them? Ok, so sweep the deck. Then sweep every room in the house and vacuum all the carpets. Then go to where you sit for your games, but remove the chair you currently have and sit on the floor. Sigh loudly, over and over again, whenever you think your wife is in earshot.Luke wrote:Ack wrote: What kind of chair?

Passive aggressive behavior deserves a passive aggressive response.

I do that twice every week anyway.Ack wrote: Ok, so sweep the deck. Then sweep every room in the house and vacuum all the carpets.
Oh, but I should throw out the chair and moan like a sixth grader pretending to be sick on the day of a test.
To be honest, I'd rather she put money into a new couch.
Not that she would buy a new couch, I would. And she would put money into it.

Ahh, the way you told the story it sounded more like some FTEs heard on the down low that they were being cut loose after the project was finished (and they weren't supposed to know this).fastbilly1 wrote:I should have added that they were all contractors. Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
So, with a little prodding, looks like by January I'll be the proud owner of a Kawasaki Ninja 250r. I just have to keep my grades up and take an MTA course, and pay for the bike myself.
I really only want it for commuting (although I think bikes are the coolest thing and I'm ecstatic at the idea of getting one). I spend twice as much time letting my Z warm up as I do commuting in it to school, and I don't want to put the miles and cold start wear on it just to travel 2 miles to class each day. Besides, motorcycles get front row parking so I wont always have to park in overflow and I'll get way better than the 14mpg I have been managing in the Z.
Older. Not wiser.
