Find a way that you'll like to see it worded that's under 100 characters. The poll title must contain fewer than 100 characters.

that was still not under 100 characters, so I shortened "Together Retro" to TR.

MS Word says 98 characters with spaces, 83 without. Maybe "Yes/No" count towards the total?

Re: POLL: Together Retro 2014 Nominations & Discussion Thre
Although I think I was the one that originally suggested the 'no shmup because it has a club' policy last year, I voted 'yes' to allowing shmups and RPGs this year if necessary.
Last year I mainly suggested it to help narrow the field down, and because the shmup club seemed more inclusive of the forum as a whole.
Now, the shmup club seems to be focused on rarer or more obscure shmups (and there's nothing wrong with that!) so it seems to be one for the players who are more deeply involved in the genre than everyone as a whole. For that reason, I have no problem including shmup in Together Retro nominations.
I kinda feel that Together Retro is the place for cheaper, widely available games, whereas the shmup and RPG club can afford to dive into some of the rarer, more expensive or platform specific titles out there. It works well.

It typically states it right on the packaging. Here's the version I own:noiseredux wrote:can anybody actually point to any proof of this free month of FF XI? I tried finding it on the official website, and couldn't find anything referencing such a thing.

I am down with coordinating TRPG with TR. Could give our little group more participation while also maybe pulling more people in. No reason the 2 can't support each other.
No FFXI for me. I am playing XIV right now for one. My time with XI wasn't all that favorable and I think it woukd be a miserable month for TR playing through that alog of a game. MMOs are for the long haul.

FWIW, yeah, the SotMC has more obscure titles this year and less participation, but that's because everyone is allowed to vote, regardless if they participate. Some games had 12-15+ people voting, and then 5 scores posted for the whole month. That's the way voting usually works and the same thing will happen with this vote. You'll get 40 votes and 15 participants - and those core participants may likely be on the "losing" side of this poll, just like the SotMC polls.
@OP, I think you should re-do the poll and only allow people to vote who can avow they will be active in the club AND demonstrate a core understanding of the games they are voting for.
Also, you should not have a poll question with the word "since". This is a leading word. "Since you already ate 3 burgers, do you really need a 4th burger, fatty?"
