Re: Favorite Sega Systems Designs
I've always like the White Sega Saturn...
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is a Japanese limited release version?

Yes, he's Japanese. I don't believe a white Saturn ever came out stateside.

Re: Favorite Sega Systems Designs
My favorite console design visually by far is the Saturn. It just screams "this is serious busniess; this is a MAN'S machine" as cheesy as that sounds XD
Call me crazy but I really like the Genesis Model 3's design too. It's just so tiny and convenient. I have it sitting here on my desk, not taking up really any space at all. I'm not sure if it really counts though since Majesco actually made it right?

Speaking of the Saturn, I've always been quite partial to this model.WrathOskvro wrote:My favorite console design visually by far is the Saturn. It just screams "this is serious busniess; this is a MAN'S machine" as cheesy as that sounds XD

Ah yes those are really cool too. V-Saturn though is downright ugly.

It's not the best in terms of hardware, but in terms of case design, the Gennesis 3 is pretty groovy.WrathOskvro wrote:Call me crazy but I really like the Genesis Model 3's design too. Genesis Model 3 is tight.
Small, convenient. More portable than the Nomad.
I just wish the power and video input came from the back and not the left side though.
Plus, it was really cheap and came with the nice 6 button controller (the one with the blue start button and turbo slider). I bought one way back for 30 bucks, brand new.
I wish they made a model 3 (slim/mini) Saturn.

The controllers don't look dated at all and I still love the BIOS loading screens and interfaces. When I compare it to the PSX or N64, it's like comparing a serious piece of consumer tech to a couple of toys.
100% agree. The flying shards that turn into the Saturn logo on start up is also by far the coolest opening of any system EVAR
As much love as I have for Saturn tho, my fav Sega console design has gotta be the Genesis Model 1. I still find the little volume slider and head phone jack cool as heck.

PresidentLeever, if I didn't know better, I'd suspect you had a fondness for Sega hardware. Just a guess, mind you.

Genesis model 1, no contest. The Saturn, Dreamcast and other Genesis models seem rather bland to me by comparison
I'm still rocking a model 1, never bothered with the others
