Re: Xbox One
True, compared to the size of the library, 30-40 quality games is pretty decent - I guess I was comparing it to the PS1 library, which has a much larger game library and therefore more quality titles. It's interesting though, the PS2 easily beats the Gamecube in library size and quality of games, and the same could be argued for the PS3 and Wii (though the Wii has a pretty bloated library of shovelware and crap titles).

Re: Xbox One
I think no one can argue that the 64 was the overall better console, but being iconic does not mean it has to be the only console of that generation. I believe Genesis and SNES share equal iconic statues of the 90's. The thing is that I see many people are hating on the system for reasons I do not understand... its a damn fun system and to be honest I hear a lot more people remembering the fun they had with the wrestling games, 007, and 64 over Metal Gear Solid and GT.
I think any console is worthwhile if it has 10 great exclusives and has a fair price. Let us not forget the 64 gives a very different experience over the PSX, the quick loads, the very different controllers, and the games are completely different (not sure how many titles were shared on both platforms but seems a very small number) . On the opposite of the ps3/360 which is basically the same thing. Not sure why this console gets a lot of people looking down at it...
back to topic, how is Microsoft is going to sell Kinect data? Are they like going to take pictures of my room or what?

Re: Xbox One
I think most of the problems with the entire PS1/N64 generation is that the vast majority of the 3D games just have not aged well at all, and that a lot of newer gamers have difficulty appreciating the time period. The PS1 has done better in this regard because of a lot of RPGs are either 2D or have great stories/gameplay to fall back on. The N64 doesn't have the games to do this (a few games excepted). I personally don't find the graphics on games like Castlevania 64, Goldeneye, Ocarina, or Turok to be that bad, but I also grew up with them, so I'm biased.

Re: Xbox One
Well, that would explain why PS1 RPGs are usually somewhat valuable while the 3D games and N64 games in general are worth far less. I for one have no issue with fifth gen 3D graphics (ugly as they may be sometimes) so if other people can't appreciate the games that just means they'll be cheaper for me. Sometimes nostalgia goggles are a blessing.Retrogamer0001 wrote:I think most of the problems with the entire PS1/N64 generation is that the vast majority of the 3D games just have not aged well at all, and that a lot of newer gamers have difficulty appreciating the time period. That is a godsend though if you are collecting games for the PS1 and you are not interested in getting RPGs or Megaman games. Too bad that's like 70% of all the PS1 games I'm interested inBoringSupreez wrote: Well, that would explain why PS1 RPGs are usually somewhat valuable while the 3D games and N64 games in general are worth far less. BTW one day I'm interested in starting an N64 collection. Are Nintendo and Rare games expensive? I know Conker is really expensive, but other than that what are the prices for those games like?

oh that's really nice. I want like 10-15 games anyway so I should have a complete "wants" collection pretty easilyAppleQueso wrote: Most of them are in the $15-25 range last I checked.

They're more expensive than that if you're buying the PAL versions.ZeroAX wrote:oh that's really nice. I want like 10-15 games anyway so I should have a complete "wants" collection pretty easilyAppleQueso wrote: Most of them are in the $15-25 range last I checked.

Re: Xbox One
It's a well known fact amongst European retro gaming collectors that the EU's N64 hardware and library sucked, so many people choose to collect an American system with American games.BoringSupreez wrote: They're more expensive than that if you're buying the PAL versions.

Re: Xbox One
Anyone else tired of people shitting on the Xbox One for no reason? I had a friend last night say she 'felt sorry for anyone buying an Xbox One'. WHY? What makes you feel that way? Good luck to her backing up her statement considering she generally doesn't even play games. About 95% of her gaming experience is from watching her boyfriend play.
I just don't get it.
