tracking your collection online

Post by nickfil »

does anyone do this? i was going to start filling in everything on 1up.com but wanted to know if there was a better alternative out there. If everyone is on 1up, i'll go there... if everyone is using something else that works a little better i'll go there.

I tried to find an old topic that had this same thead, but couldn't (do they get deleted after X amount of time?). I remember racket saying that there was something in the works for tracking collections through racketboy. Still going on or kind of a pipe dream?

The reason i ask is i don't really know what to look for, having never even tracked my collection before...

I thought of doing it by making a blog and track progress in each game. There was 1 site that your could track your games with I forget the name but I think it was something like backlog. Maybe some one else knows what im talking about.

You could also try Video Game Rebirth.

You're thinking of http://www.backloggery.com. It's my personal favorite.

Awesome! I've wanted to log my collection, but I don't mind waiting for yours to get up and running. Because I know yours will be done well and I really don't feel like joining up on yet another site. It's much better when everythings right at home. :D

That's a pretty cool idea. Too bad there doesn't seem to be a way to export your data in CSV, XML, or whatever. That's an essential feature before I'll put data *anywhere*.

rfgeneration.com and gametz.com are both great sites to track your collection on. Both have extra features beyond just tracking such as trading and looking at others collections.
