Re: Together Retro 2014 Nominations & Discussion Thread
If we can +1 nominees, why can't we -1?
Re: Together Retro 2014 Nominations & Discussion Thread
Because it would be worse for AJ and his listkeeping, and it would make every vote a +1 for the game in the genre picked and a -1 for all the others to some people, more than likely. Say I +1'd Solomon's Key in the Puzzle category. I wouldn't want any of the other games, so I'd -1 Lost Vikings, -1 Puzzle Quest. It would be a bit hard to follow for anyone keeping track. Not voting for a game is better than -1-ing it. Too many people would over-do it and then the nice list AJ has would be a mess.Violent By Design wrote:If we can +1 nominees, why can't we -1?

Re: Together Retro 2014 Nominations & Discussion Thread
+1 Metal Gear (Action)
+1 Space Harrier (Rail Shooter)
+1 Deus Ex (FPS)
+1 Lost Vikings (Puzzle...This is one of my very favorite games.)
+1 Robotron 2084 (Twin-Stick Shooter...ditto)
+1 Oddworld (Platformer)
+1 Wave Race 64 (Racing)
+1 "Bad Game Month" (I really feel like the members of this forum need an excuse to play and discuss Ballz 3D among other terrible games...and I really think it would be a lot of fun if we chose 5-10 games to play and discuss that month.)
+1 Eternal Champions (Fighting)
Finally, I would like to nominate:
Nectaris/Military Madness for "strategy" month. Although it is largely forgotten today, this gem was ranked as one of the "greatest games of all time" in EGM 100, 150, and 200. The original game was developed by Hudson Soft for the Turbografx-16, but an enhanced port of the game is available for the PS1. There is a 3D remake available on WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade, and the Playstation Network, and an enhanced port of the game is also available for iOS.

Though I voted for Garou as a fighter, I'll +1 Warzard, it looks amazing and is a lot less well known

I'd venture my list of started/finished games is much higher than yours. iirc, you've not finished FEA or BGEE yet, right?Jmustang1968 wrote:Eh don't bother, this is the same guy who quit Fire Emblem Awakening after a few battles and gave up on Baldur's Gate

Re: Together Retro 2014 Nominations & Discussion Thread
I think there has been more discussion in this thread about a game than on some TR monthly posts.noiseredux wrote:so should we vote on Deus Ex, or...?
Because of that and to see these two, and possibly others, go all "Sharks and Jets" in a "Dues Ex-Side Story" style brawl - I vote yes!
