So, the 3D effect in the new Pokemon seems pretty weird. Only cutscenes seem to be in 3D.

Edit: Looked it up and found an article http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/10/t ... scopic-3d/

Yeah, I never got into the breeding aspect in games; I'm an adventurer, not a ranch/farm-hand.

Maybe I'm just weirded out by it though. You could call it "monster fusion" and I'd be more interested. Might have to go with that idea if I ever get into the Dragon Warrior Monsters games.

The leveling can be fun though, providing that you have an additional purpose:
For me, all pokemon needs is a proper job/guild system, separate from the main story.
(have no idea if something like that exists in any of the games, aside from your average side quests).

...and Battles as well.
However, the article states that having the 3D slider on makes the framerate noticeably stutter :| . Too bad, as that's the only part I'd want 3D for, but would leave it off if it diminished the flow of action.

If I get it, it shall be banished to my 2DS.
But then, My 3DSXL (with Circle pad) will likely be used more exclusively for Monster Hunter, anyways.

Even though I have Ruby, I haven't played a Pokemon game since Silver, so X and Y are high on my want list. But my birthday is coming up and many hints have been dropped, so I'm going to be good and hold out for just a little while longer.

Having started playing this game yesterday, I can confirm that it is REALLY noticeable. First 3DS game where I prefer to play in 2D.

Everything else about the game has been pretty cool though. And my copy arrived 2 days early, which is also nice :D

Devil Survivor Overclocked now on the 3DS eShop. :)

One of the best DS/3DS RPG's, IMO. Got it to replace my physical copy.

Anyone get the Pokemon 3DS XLs? Apparently they were released yesterday.. I was going to buy one and sell my Red on Ebay.. Figured it could got for $160 or $170 since the back has a little wear(you can pull it up a little bit because one of the connectors are broken) on it.. I got this in a trade from craigslist.. Pretty good condition overall though and I have the box and everything that comes with it.. Might even throw in a game..

so I got Animal Crossing: New Leaf tonight. Haven't played an Animal Crossing game since GameCube. But recently my wife and I were listening to The Nerdest podcast and Brie Larson was talking about New Leaf with Chris Hardwick and they just made it sound so fun that both me and my wife were like "hmmm maybe we should get that." I figure I'll let my wife start the first save so she can be the mayor.
