Played a little bit of Lone Survivor the other day for Vita, seems super creepy! I'm hoping to finish this one before the end of the month. Fingers crossed.

Roseanne.
Excellent call.

Reno 911 is a must too.

Yup, I got stuck on it for quite a few tries myself. The original Quake is a good pick if you want similar fast faced FPS with a horror theme in the enemy design

Funny thing about fast paced FPS games is that even though they're much harder to learn when playing online, the single player campaigns tend to be easier than those in slower and more realistic ones. Atleast in Quake the real challenge (and fun) in the singleplayer lies within speed running the game
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Ugh, giving up on Fatal Frame for now - as a first time player, you're punished pretty hard for not being extremely practical with every single item and roll of film you get early on. I made it to chapter 3 of 4 but can't continue because I can't find any more health or film for my camera and I'm being chased by two ghosts from room to room. Restarting the game seems like the only option at this point, but doing that pisses me off, as it shouldn't be necessary. I'll come back to it someday.

Just watched the conjuring and i must admit it was pretty cool, slow paced but the ending made it worth it. I like that is not a movie where SCARY STUFF JUMPS AT YOU to make feel scare, it subtle in that.

The Tingler is an odd film about parasites and fear. It's uneven, characters disappear after a while, and it features a silent film that is much, much better for its meta scenes inside a theater. The 4th wall also gets broken a couple of times. There's also an introduction by director/producer William Castle that devolves into headshots of people screaming which reminded me of Zardoz. And no one wants to be reminded of Zardoz. Yet I can't help but like the film for its campiness, its gimmicks, and its heart.

The gyst of The Tingler is that Vincent Price has discovered a parasite residing in human beings that feeds off of fear, which he calls the Tingler. It's a big, nasty looking worm that will kill if it gets large enough, but screaming somehow causes the creature to weaken and relent. But Price meets a man with a deaf and mute wife who cannot scream, and the study begins. To enhance the effect, William Castle paid to have surplus vibrators attached to the bottoms of random chairs and for hired workers to be planted in the audience to scream and pretend to faint during the film.

The film is campy, and neither Price nor Castle are at their best, but it's an enjoyable campfest and features a scene where Price takes LSD and has a bad trip.

The Beyond
Zombi 2
From Beyond
The Beast with Five Fingers
The Screaming Skull
The Killer Shrews
The Tingler

At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul
Black Sunday
Children of the Corn

The Innkeepers

The Evil Dead (remake)
The Lords of Salem
The Gate
Kuroneko

Anyway, as for the rest of you...

Luke, only bother playing Painkiller on the highest difficulty. It's still doable, but it presents a much better challenge. I had a cakewalk getting through it on normal. The Battle Out of Hell expansion is also harder than the original game and worth checking out.

Retro, that's the way classic survival horror usually is. You may very well have to restart the whole game after running out of ammunition. My suggestion is to instead focus on learning everything's weakpoint and kill them by using it. It'll help save film. But a second attempt will always work better, since you now know where to go and what to do to get through the beginning without wasting too much film or time.

And I'll be watching the new Regular Show Halloween special, but I have to work on it.

Prfsnl_gmr, now I want to watch Full Circle...this may present a problem.

It is only fair. Your posts have me tracking down all sorts of random horror films!

I am absolutely astounded that the film - which star Mia Farrow, won multiple awards, and is based on a book by one of America's most respected horror writers - never received a DVD release in North America. I think it would be a pain to track down if you don't have Netflix...or some other way....to stream it, and I can also see how some people might not like it. Accordingly, you may want to see if any other members can give you a second opinion before you go to too much effort.

Yup. I've beaten the game before and believe I own the expansion as well. It's not a bad game, it's just not for me. I can only "Repel, strafe, shoot" so many times before it gets boring.
