Why do Mac users insist they are smarter because the computers they use are "easier"?

Kind of an oxymoron don't you think?

I always found Mac's to be less user friendly than PC's.

Macs are great until you want to do something for yourself or change anything. Then life falls apart.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Unfortunately I think that's true of many things.

Yeah I believe that too, but Mac users insist everything is easier on a Mac and that we are stupid for sticking to a PC. Which begs the question "why call someone stupid for using something that is more complex?".

I really like the analogy that fastbilly used with the saw and hammer. It sums it up really nicely.

It's pathetic how hipsters across the globe mourned when Steve Jobs died and there were articles and movies about him but mostly tech related news papers and sites bothered reporting about the death of Jack Tramiel. Apple products, like designer clothing, are about image, people who want functionality can find it free of charge from Linux and FreeBSD

Like I've seen people steal two ink pens out of a package of pens. If you're gonna steal the thing anyway, why not steal all of the pens?

I frequently find empty DVD cases and such where people have stolen the movie. It's been my observation that people who steal movies tend to have really shitty taste.
When I worked at Amazon the Loss Prevention guys had some fun stories. There was one time where someone had managed over the course of a couple months to lift $30k worth of SD cards before he was caught. On the opposite end of the scale, one of the security guards noticed an associate leaving had a weird lump in his pocket; turns out he was stealing a single tennis ball out of a can of three.
