Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Well, the bigger question I have is what percentage mark up do retailers place on products due to theft? Or is it jump lumped into overhead?

People shoplift the weirdest stuff.

Like I've seen people steal two ink pens out of a package of pens. If you're gonna steal the thing anyway, why not steal all of the pens?

I frequently find empty DVD cases and such where people have stolen the movie. It's been my observation that people who steal movies tend to have really shitty taste.

I've noticed this too. Back before some of the local thrift stores took better precautions to seal their CDs, DVD, games, etc., I noticed that, generally, thieves took only the very sh*ttiest music and movies...

Speaking from experience, I can tell you that most of the stuff stolen at Wal-Mart is taken by employees.

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I have seen the entire truck crew replaced at least 3 times because of people stealing stuff.

Recently I got into a Mac vs PC "discussion" with one of my wife's friends who is a hardcore Apple fan. During this argument I had an epiphany and gave him the best analogy I could:
Computers are tools. Saying a Mac is better than a PC is like saying a Hammer is better than a Saw. They can be used for similar purposes, but can excel with their individual strengths.

He ofcourse did not listen and kept informing me why Macs were better and that I was an idiot for not owning one (when I actually own three). When I told him I use Linux for general use and Windows for gaming he tried to tell me how I can play all my PC games on OSX and the conversation got really interesting, mostly because he did not know what he was talking about.

I've never understood why the people who know the least about computing are the most vocal with their opinions.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
