Typing of the dead problems

I just tried Typing of the Dead on my PAL Dreamcast and at first there was no color but the game functioned normally. I booted the game on a different disc (first cheats&codes 1, then action replay CDX). The second time around I got color but after playing the game a while, the screen froze during a conversation (after killing the first boss). I've never had any problems when playing Japanese games on my PAL Dreamcast. Is there a compatibility issue with the game?

I don't think so, I've had it a number of years and have never had any problems with any TV I've used. Weird.

The music in this game quite often seems to first start looping, and then it dissapears all together untill the next song starts. It's a legit copy of the game and there don't seem to be any big scratches in the disc. Should I be worried about the laser of my dreamcast? Haven't had these problems with any other DC game, so I'm still hoping it's some kind of compatibility issue or something. Besides the music getting stuck, otherwise the game plays flawlessly
