Dear Sega Bring Propeller Arena to Mobile!

Post by shwisha »

I was just kindly reminded of Propeller Arena. The game that would of been a sure hit for the Dreamcast. Unfortunately the game never made it's official release due to the early death of the console.

After watching some youtube videos of the game, and remembering 5+ years ago when I tried it out on my dreamcast. I realized this game would be perfect on smart phones and tablets. Sega's already released a few other dreamcast titles... why not release Propeller Arena and give it the life it always deserved?

It was mostly canned because of the 9/11 attacks.

Give Dogfighter or Crimson Skies a go if you want a Propeller Arena like experience. Dogfighter is on the PC, Crimson Skies is on the Xbox - though there is a PC game it is different.

Why bring this to mobile? :S. It'd be better for the 3DS/PS Vita/PS3/Wii U ect.

Well yeah they could just bring it to everything... that'd be even better. It's just a shame this title wont see the light of day... it's so good.

It's a shame... the code is there in some closet at the Sega offices... they just need to dig it up and polish it up and they have a sure money maker on their hands.

Sure money maker? I wouldn't go as far to call it that. There's probably a reason we aren't seeing more PSN/Steam releases of Dreamcast games. They probably didn't sell enough to be worth the effort.

Seen that the market is basically owned by a few game now a days. However its still a wonderful game and maybe with the right marketing (which Sega seems to struggle at) it could be a decent offering.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast
