Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Not exactly a material find, but I did find this while I was traveling through neighborhoods going from yard sale to yard sale. I swung my car around to take a pic. Good job to whoever painted this.

Nice. I know I'd be happy to find N64 joysticks that looked that good.harper wrote:There were a million yard sales today and I ended up walking away with some pretty good deals.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Very cool! I picked up the DK one a few years back at a yard sale for $5. Been wanting to collect and play the others ever since.Teh Lurv wrote:Picked up from an estate sale a Coleco Arcade Pac-Man and (incomplete) Donkey Kong. Unfortunately, both machines haven't fared too well in storage and initially wouldn't power on when I got them home. I've managed to get Pac-Man going once I cleaned out the internal corrosion.
I thought the DK gameplay translates surprisingly well.

Every month is yard sale month in Georgia. hahaRCBH928 wrote:how do you find these yard sales, is there like a site for listing or is there a certain a month where every one has a yard sale?
There's a website for our local newspaper where you can basically look up ads by category (such as "yard sales"). Comes in very handy because you don't have to worry about buying a newspaper everyday and you have everything listed in one convenient place. And I also check Craigslist and other yard sale ad sites for ads that weren't posted in the paper. I just put all the addresses into the Mapquest route planner and I'm good to go.
But for some reason there were so many yard sales this weekend that we were out until 1pm and still didn't have time to hit them all before people started packing up.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
^ Once again I ask, Where are these magical yard sales?
All I ever find is dirty clothes and the occasional copy of Guitar Hero.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I found a lot of good stuff this weekend. The best of which is a boxed Sega Menacer (no game or receiver, unfortunately) for $6 and a Pokémon Edition Game Boy Color w/Pokémon Yellow for $3, both at thrift stores. I also picked up a pristine Pokémon XD for Gamecube for $6. I loathe anything Pokémon so they're already on eBay and will hopefully get me even for all the other game-related stuff I bought this past weekend. I'm definitely keeping the GBC though. I just looks so frickin' cool.

Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness goes for a good amount on Ebay. I remember getting my copy at Goodwill for $2.50. I normally don't collect Pokemon games, but for that price, I'll keep it.
I got Zelda Wind Waker HD Limited Edition in the mail from Gamestop. It was in a box with bubble packets, but the game box itself had a slightly crushed corner. I'm not complaining as it is rare anyway.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Finally picked up a copy of Harvest Moon on eBay, the last game on my SNES want-list, and completed my personal collection. Admittedly, I'm not usually one to perpetuate the cycle of over-priced SNES games, but seeing as how it was the last game on my list and most cart-only copies go for upwards of $150, I figured I could justify paying $130 (shipping included). It's in perfect condition, and after a cleaning with rubbing alcohol and q-tips, it's working nicely. Can't wait to start a new file and build the greatest farm the world's ever seen.
