The Best Part? Aidric wanted to play NFL Blitz on 64 after about 30 minutes. Tagan said:
"Aidric. We can't. Dad says we have to love teh Neo." I kid you not.

your kids are very lucky, if I had all those systems and I am an adult I will be having a damn fun time. Their brains must be exploding in fun.

These things matter more than PS4s simply because other kids dads can't just BUY this stuff from walmart. Its a unique experience that they will talk to with their friends for years to come and then to their future kids.

4-day weekend (kids are off school for teacher inservice)

Last night was Kono E Tako and Gamshara. Gamshara is an absolute ton of fun and we couldn't play as long as we wanted because the girls were bored. It plays like Wild Guns if it had to be compared to something. The jump mechanics and bullet dodging are very precise and takes a bit to get it down, but once you do - absolute blast:

Not a great picture, but this is my oldest son playing "Star Trigon" - a one-button incredibly difficult game. The premise is simple, but after the first few stages, elements are added in and it constantly changes the timing in which you have to tap that one button. The best part imo is the music - as you hit things you shouldn't (the sun, poison planets) you speed up or get sick and the music is done so well your heart rate literally starts to increase and you puch the button HARD - super fun.

Yeah, that was the cutest thing I've seen all week when she ran up to the screen towards Cookie Monster.

This made me think....
The 1 stick 1 button controller of Atari might be the easiest controller for children to get into games. Its even easier than a D-Pad

There was something similar to that on the Intellivision as well, I remember playing one that played Turkey in the Straw, while Big Bird tried to catch eggs that were falling down chutes.

My 5 year old is finally starting to get used to using a D-Pad to control games. He made it this far all by himself this morning. I gave him advise for the boss, but he did everything... I'm proud.
