Best Rainbow Six game? Where to start?

For sure. I always enjoyed SOCOM more than Rainbow Six. IMO SOCOM 2 had a decent campaign, though 3's was definitely the best.

Probably because of their goal of looking realistic and seeming as officially Navy Seal as possible without actually being involved with them. The first game had a cool 20-minute documentary about their indoc training, IIRC.

MY favorite back in the day was Rogue Spear. Sniper online battles on the MSN Zone back in the day was fun..

Have you looked into Operation Flashpoint (PS3/360), may surprise you also try to play with a party if you can. This game shines in co-op.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
