PS2 Component Cable trouble

Post by BitFaced »

Most of the PS2/GSM stuff is going fine so far, but I do notice something wrong with the image; I think it's analogue rubbish or the certain cable, it leaves a grid of grainy pixels over the image. Specifically you can notice it here:

Is it the cable I'm using or is it the whole Analouge thing? Should I use a HDMI Analouge-to-Digital converter or get a new cable?

Might be the TV, what make and model number? For instance, I tried PS2 Component on my son's Vizio LCD and got the same pixelation with the game Black in 480p mode.

I see lots of haloing going on, maybe try reducing your contrast settings first?

Specifically, it was the LG 42LD450-ZA.AEKWLJG I was temporarily using. Will try on another HD TV shortly.

UPDATE
It still happens on another HD TV (Technika). Gulp.

Yay! Now the question is, what's the highest quality Component cable for PS2?

Try that component PS2 setup on a ED or HD CRT.

Don't have either of those, I don't think.
