I dont know how I missed that last year, congrats on the good score. I love it when one of us finds a score in this day of Ebay and Craigslist.

I've had some very good finds, but that Sega one takes the cake. $112.00 bucks?!
It does reinforce what I've always told other people, which is be friendly with the staff at thrift stores. I mean, being friendly to people shouldn't be that hard to begin with, but when you never know when it will go a long way.

Likewise, when I was working a crappy retail job, being nice to customers worked in my favor. One did me favors from his crappy retail job in return for me going out of my way at my crappy retail job. Another gave me some free stuff for going out of my way.superyoda41 wrote:I've had some very good finds, but that Sega one takes the cake. $112.00 bucks?!

That's right! I forgot about the Gen 1 brick. I'll have to check my extra plugs.Hobie-wan wrote:Nice price. SNES power brick is more important since it has the proprietary plug. You can use many power plugs from 5 to 9 volts just fine and of course a Gen 1 brick works. Zanac is an excellent NES shmup. The Super Pad is good stuff. Real analog stick so no grinding down the plastic and you can switch analog to dpad without moving your hand much. Plenty of other great stuff for the price.Michi wrote: *cheap stuff*
Thanks Hobie
I'm glad I could have some small impact on your day.aaron wrote:revisiting that find just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

My girlfriend is still jealous of that sealed Dragon Warrior
I'm jealous of the CDX and (now) the SNES.
Awesome job!

The finds in this thread are pretty amazing... brand new Gameboy is just .... mouthwatering just for nostalgia alone and for $50 is pretty damn cheap
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Went to a yard sale this morning and found this buried under some random stuff:

No games in it.
But there was this:

After some experimenting I think I found the best way to play games with this control scheme.Hobie-wan wrote: Nice snags. Commando is fun with great music. You just need to hover holding the joystick so you can bump the space bar with your hand for grenades.
I have a Quickshot joystick with a fire button on top and suction pads on the bottom (kinda like this). With the suction cups it stays relatively stationary so I only need one hand to control it. Right hand stays on the joystick, so I can use the left on the space bar. It's like a very primitive version of the mouse/keyboard controls we use today.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Seems I found a second hand store that collectors dont hit up that often and employees dont check ebay or prices. Was going there looking the complete copy of Shenmue for the Dreamcast I saw for $4. But it wasnt still there. I did however find all this.
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Complete
Super Smash Bros Melee. Complete
F-Zero GX. Case and disc only
Original Gameboy. Still need to check if works.
Bases Loaded Gameboy. In original box with game.
Opened the Super Mario Sunshine to find it has all the paper work but not the correct disc.
It actually had The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time disc.
All for $12.00!
