It's funny cause 360 fans made fun of the PS3 for the constant updates
Oh, okay. Whatever works!

The closer we get to launch the more I think about maybe getting a Xbox One at launch. But just like with the PS4 I have pre-ordered, there really aren't many launch games that interest me. And then I'd have to factor in the cost of a XBL subscription to go along with my PS+ subscription. Meh. Unless I just never played online like with the 360.
My B/S/T thread! :)

lol so you still need to connect the Xbox One to the internet to play games?

It will be the same as it is for current generation in the long run. Some updates will be required to play the online components of games. This update is to reverse the 24-hour check-in.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

A day one update != constant updates.

The difference here is that the Xbox is adding features up until the last minute while the PS4 is happy to not try and innovate in any meaningful way.

I kid.

I support however many updates Sony and Microsoft want to do. As long as they help better the experience. And hopefully don't take as long to install as PS3 and 360. :P

Well and heck, with the update functionality that Sony added to the PS3, I rarely notice the updates anyway so go ahead. Just don't brick my system :)

Some may scoff, but the auto-updates are one of the best perks of PS+, IMO.

5 min updates with significant improvements = good
30 min updates of "security fixes" "bug fixes" you never noticed were there = bad

I do not own a ps3 but every time my friends switches on his ps3 there seems to be a double update for the system and 1 update for the game. Its just annoying...

Any one, as time passes I feel more like I want to be an XboxOne guy , even though I regretted getting a 360 over ps3 this generation(didn't regret for the first 2-3 years)

No, don't....just don't. Microsoft's support in non-key markets is simply put, abysmal. No xbox live, pain in the ass replacement console ect. Just go with Sony, I know it has a respectable presence in the middle-east too.

The PS3, as of the last firmware update, should do updates automatically while it's idle (something that had been exclusive to PS+ until then). So instead of turning the system on or putting a game in and told one needs to be done, you get a message saying what was updated.

'course, if your internet is limited, or you're using the system constantly, it may not be that smooth.

Still, I imagine that'll stay with the PS4.
