Doesn't need PSX-emulation.

POP's is basically virtualisation. The games are just converted to make the psp specific syscalls. Just get psx2psp or a similar psx to pops converter.

The amount of stuff you can do with a PSP is incredible. I have a PSP Slim with 5.00 M33-3 on it.

There's plenty of guides out there on the internet, but I run into problems with most of them. Either they aren't clear enough, or they're just out dated. For example, I was trying to figure out why I couldn't get a UMD emulator to work. I was reading through lots of guides. After an hour or two I finally found out that the newer firmwares can just straight up boot an ISO.

Right now I'm trying to get Remote Joy to work. With it you can view your PSP on a monitor via a USB cable. Haven't been able to get it to work yet though. Has any one used this before?

edit: Got it to work, although I only get 2 or 3 FPS, so it's pretty unplayable. I'm pretty sure its because I don't have USB 2.0, so the transfer rate isn't fast enough.

edit edit: Had to delete it off the PSP. For some reason, it was causing my PSP to lock up when I try to exit a game or emulator.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

I haven't even hacked my PSP and delved into homebrew yet, and I'm already in love with the PSP. It has some great exclusive games, a variety of uses and everything about it is so convenient. Hard to damage UMD discs, easy to copy and download saves and no region protection. Plus, the novelty of how powerful this thing is hasn't worn off on me yet. Seeing PS 1 games and near PS 2 quality games running on this little thing impresses the hell out of me. Games like God of War:Chains of Olympus, the Grand Theft Auto games and ports like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Disgaea are basically giving you PS2 gaming on the go

When I finally start emulating, I'm looking forward to trying some MAME games and some Neo Geo stuff. Arcade gaming on the go. Plus, it'll also be great to have roms for 16-bit classics that I own and be able to play them anywhere.

Between my modded Saturn and my region free PSP, I may start seriously getting into import gaming. I hate localization issues as well as seeing great games never released here. My PSP is going to keep me happy for quite some time.

Damn, I can't believe I click on 'new topic' instead of 'reply' on accident, thank god for delete. Every one would have been scratching their heads if they went to a new topic that only contained this brief paragraph:

The reason I bought a PSP in the first place was because Castlevania Rondo of Blood's first US release. Learning afterwards of all the things it can do with CFW was just another huge plus. Not to mention great PSP original games. I just started on Crisis Core.

Dracula X:Chronicles is fantastic. There are some minor issues with the port of the original, but it's still great and I think the remake is much better overall anyway(and you get the option to play it with the original Rondo's soundtrack too which is cool). Definitely the best version of Symphony of the Night too. Maria mode is actually a fun challenge in this version unlike the god mode Maria in the Saturn one.

I plan on checking out Crisis Core, even thought combat looks a little shallow. It's a Final Fantasy game, and for all the things that piss me off about them, they're like rpg crack for me.

Definitely some great exclusives. I ranted quite a bit about Mega Man:Maverick Hunter X in another thread, but it's growing on me. The two versions of Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts have my interest since they actually have a not fucking insane difficulty setting. Also interested in Tenchu: Time of the Assassins, Daxter, the upcoming Disgaea spinoff, and some other cool stuff.

I thought the remake was going to suck. I thought I'd get the game, unlock the originals and then never play it again, but I was wrong. The remake was a lot of fun, and the music was awesome. Which leads me to the only flaw, in my opinion, with the PSP: sound. This game has a wonderful soundtrack, but you can't hear it! I started to wear headphones when I played just so I can hear all the awesome music. There was parts in the song that I wasn't able to hear with out them!

You should, its worth playing. It really grew on me. The combat does feel a little cheesy, most of the time you're just hitting the X button non stop, but a fun game non the less. The music is also awesome in this game, another one that I started wearing headphones for. There's just parts of the music you can't hear through the PSP speakers.

Since I got the PSP, I've been wanted to get the component cables for it. Not only will I be able to play the games on my TV, but I'll be able to hear the games through my TV as well.

I'm wondering if I should get the Star Oceans for PSP or not. I haven't played them before, so I'm wondering if I should play the remakes on PSP, or the SNES and PSX original versions.

I didn't know there was an easier difficulty setting for Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts. I might get that. The only real old-school-hard game I've put time into recently was Dracula X Chronicles. I'm stuck at Death right now. Have been for a while, actually.

I'm a little ashamed to say I got up to the last level then stopped playing. I'll get around to kicking its ass sooner or later.

edit: Just picked up the PSP component cables, finally. I'm not entirely pleased with it. When using them, the menus take up the whole screen and look ok. But when in game, it doesn't take up the whole screen. That's not even a problem, but the image is also a little blurry, I guess from being stretched. Still, pretty nice being able to play my PSP games on a TV.
