The Month of Horror PART IV: dsheinem vs. noiseredux
Re: The Month of Horror PART IV: dsheinem vs. noiseredux
From the thread title I thought this was just for the two's of yas.
Games beaten:
Splatterhouse
Splatterhouse 2
Splatterhouse 360
Going to plug in the Dreamcast and tackle:
D2
Alone in the Dark
Nightmare Creatures 2
Legacy of Kain
Evil Dead: Hail to the King
Watched FT13th parts 3, 4, and 5 over the weekend.
Still a bit early for decorations, but I have been thinking about costumes since August. I'm thinking my wife and I could pull off Wayne and Garth. All I would need is a black t-shirt, black wig, black hat.

So yesterday (September!) I watched The Reef (2010). It was about as boring a shark movie as you can probably make, with only a few interesting points of tension and even fewer novel ideas. It also felt unfinished....pass on it.
This morning I watched V/H/S. I liked it much more than I thought I might, and though I generally don't like "found footage" types of films, this one was quite enjoyable. There was a little bit of every horror subgenre in there, which in some movies wouldn't work but in this one, due to the deliberately choppy editing, it worked pretty well to create a frantic and disorienting horror film. Quite fun.
I would hope the sequel doesn't try to tie into this one at all...I'll probably give it a look later this month if I can.

Great game! It's unfortunate that my Dreamcast is finicky and hates it.Luke wrote:D2
I initially hated The New Nightmare when I first tried it on PS1, but the Dreamcast version grew on me when I dabbled with it years later.Alone in the Dark
I haven't tried any of the Nightmare Creatures games, but Legacy of Kain is always enjoyable!Nightmare Creatures 2

I'm sorry.Evil Dead: Hail to the King
Ds, I'm glad you liked V/H/S. I didn't like it when I watched it, but that was because I didn't care for the first half or so. The final section is my favorite.

Hrmm..not a fan of double posting. But I've been trying to come up with a list of 31 horror films to seek, and I've got a rudimentary guide for films to search for. These are in no order, and I don't know if I will find them all. If not, I'll be subbing in more alternates as I go.

Ack, the Christmas movies are for December.
Here's a link to download Slender: The Eight Pages - the free PC game.

There's also a Pinnacle Game Profiler profile for it if you prefer gamepad like I do.

Oh, I didn't realize it was for noobs too. I thought it was only for those experienced with the genre. Could you lock/delete this thread or merge it?

Re: The Month of Horror PART IV: dsheinem vs. noiseredux
I managed to find two movies I haven't seen that sound ok.
First is Gothika, love Halle Berry and the plot seems good.
The second is actually a collection. It's five movies in a tombstone tin case called Death Scream. The movies are: Good against evil, Don't look in the basement, Blood tide, Death screams, and Legacy of blood.
I'm expecting the first to be good to ok, and the collection to be...cheezy. Am I right or did I luck out and get a good couple of movies?
