So my classes went active yesterday. For some of the courses, the whole semester posted, and for some just a few lessons posted. I'm a bit freaked out though, because each syllabus says refer to the calendar on my home page for due dates. My calendar has no events on it.

I emailed two of the professors about it, but I think they switch from in school to online later in the day. I hate not knowing things.

The kid also has been freaking out because apparently she inherited my obsession with pens. She has magic markers, but noooooo she wants mommy's pens.
I'm here for your body.

So I got sent home today as one of the government workers (military) without pay. Maybe we should start a kickstarter for a functional government.

The interesting thing about that is that the House and Senate both passed a measure over the weekend to fund military pay.

She has arrived:

She's getting tuned next week, but as for now she sounds like a bar piano, so I've been playing a lot of Billy Joel, Jerry Leiws, and lots of blues and honky tonk.

Oh Happy Day!

Awesome!!! I have an upright myself and it sounds great. I'll probably want to refinish it someday, but I got it for a steal, so I'm not too worried about that right now.

It's no Steinway, but she sure sounds beautiful.

I hope you practice regularly as dusty pianos should not exist.

Piano tuners and dealers will say, "Eh, a Steinway sounds the same as any other piano and needs as much care". Bullshirt. Solid wood key structure. ivory keys, etc., You get what you pay for when buying a piano.

I'd like to frame one of my compositions and hang it above the piano, but the wife says "That would be too self absorbed looking". She's 99.9% correct, so there goes that idea. Might install an overhead lamp for when playing at night.

Looks like it might be an extra $150 to tune this lady, as she is long in the tooth. No worries, that means I get to blame the piano for the next week for missed notes.

Sorry to be a traitor guys, but for quite a while it will be Piano>Vidjagamz

Very nice piano, Luke! It's nine o'clock on a Saturdayyyy....
And like noise said, you don't have to pick between the piano and the vidya:

I'm military and still working/getting paid. However, the other services we're used to like the on-base gym, community center, grocery store, and library are closed until further notice.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

My in-laws are trying to get rid of their piano. I keep telling my wife we should take it, but she's not thrilled with that idea. I'd like my daughter to take piano lessons someday - I feel that if you want to play any instrument you should start with the piano to get a solid foundation.
