Not to go into a diatribe, but you are right, idiot politicians and also, idiot supporters of idiot politicians. A lot of people are happy about this, because they think it will stop Obamacare... nope... won't stop it. It is already funded.
Let's call it like it really is: political terrorists. Republicans achieved something that Osama bin Laden only ever dreamed of.

How about we don't start a political catfight over this?

Do you really think it's possible to get o.pwuaioc not to complain about Republicans in any given situation? They're basically his go-to fall guy for just about everything.

I think it is more of the issue o.pwoiuac that when political debate occurs you get a bit impassioned and near fanatical. Which pretty much makes a civil debate impossible as you make inflaming passive-aggressive and over the top statements. Basically the political terrorism comment above applies... C'mon now.

Yes, because demanding Obamacare defunded or else the government will shut down is not at all impassioned and fanatical.

But you do this with every political discussion, o.pwuaioc. I've seen you harass and attack individuals over a variety of views on this forum, and it disturbs me, even when I agree with your argument.

I an talking about your discussion or arguing techniques. Not the demeanor of the politicians. They are involved in political maneuvering.

The fact we can have a multiparty government that atleast tries to represent different political povs is what helps keeps balance, as frustrating as it may be for one side or the other at different times.

If we let the government fall that brings us one step closer to the glorious utopia of cyperpunk dystopias. With the government non-functional faceless corporations can step in to the void, and without government oversight they can finally develop the dangerous technologies that will eventually allow us to transcend our fleshy existence.
