Re: Please make an Attack on Titan game for home consoles!
People thinking that this couldn't get a console game release soon are seriously underestimating this series' popularity both in Japan and in the west. This is the most popular anime on air right now, as well as the most popular manga. Just like those who believe that the episode airing tonight will be the last episode of the anime ever, I say "Just wait." It would be financially stupid for them not to take complete advantage of this series right now.
This would be a great console game, especially if they made it into an open world action RPG the likes of The Elder Scrolls or Dark Souls. They could have it where you play as a nameless member of the survey corps or something like that. Or you know, you could always just play as Eren...

More popular than One Piece? You must be joking.
But yea, Attack on Titan is pretty damn big. For better or worse. Not a fan, personally. Terribly annoying fandom too. On par with Homestuck and Hetalia here in the west. Partially because those girls have switched over to AoT.
May be the best selling anime in Japan this year too. Depending on how sales for later volumes go. Another season of anime is a definite. Perhaps this time with a better budget. The 13 episodes of season 1 I saw are extraordinarily inconsistent. It's pretty jarring. Consistently mediocre animation looks better to me than great action scenes and tons of stills (and plenty of outsourced episodes) They obviously had budget issues and poured most of their budget into the action scenes. Thus all the recap and very extended still shots.

Is Attack on Titan worth watching, or is it just better to stick with the manga?
I really doubt it's the most popular manga.soul_hacker wrote:People thinking that this couldn't get a console game release soon are seriously underestimating this series' popularity both in Japan and in the west. I haven't read the manga yet, but the series had points where it plain didn't go anywhere for several episodes at a time...and it wound up with S1 more or less ending on a "but things were far from over...". So, story-wise, I can only see the anime as making you want to go read the manga anyway, even if the action scenes are fun to watch.Violent By Design wrote:Is Attack on Titan worth watching, or is it just better to stick with the manga?
As mentioned, it's fairly obvious where the money went, and there's an overabundance of flashbacks, still/pan type shots, and so on. I though it was still good, but could have been better.

Started with the episodes and transitioned to the manga because I had to see what happened midway through trost
.
Overall I would say the main thing that makes the manga better is you can speed through the slower parts while the show can end up taking 2-3 episodes to before anything exciting happens because they have to cover the entire story.
One thing I really liked about the show though was their placement of the training. The show had the training story before trost but the manga didn't have it till afterwards.

I know. Also, you might wanna spoiler tag the stuff.Fragems wrote:That is one hell of a sadistic game. Could only kill 4-5 titans before getting completely annihilated. With more people it would be fun but solo it is crazy.
Edit: Me and you might be able to play together. I have to figure out if I can or not though.

Played some online last night. You can go to their facebook page and people post up server info on a regular basis. Game is pretty dang awesome with 5+ people and was 10 times better once I figure out the single cable controlsSamuraiMegas wrote:I think we can play each other. Maybe.
