We are pretty bad about our teacher salaries here in NC...but I question some of the other entries.

For example, the map list Maine as the dumbest state. I have visited Maine many times, however, and I can assure you that its citizens are not nearly as unintelligent as the citizens of some states in the deep south, midwest, and west coast.

Likewise, the map shows Delaware as being the worst at "taxes." Taxes in Delaware, however, are notoriously low; so, I am not sure how that makes it the "worst".

You didn't visit the same parts of Maine I did. The rednecks there are the same as they are anywhere else. I remember getting fried shimp in a shack on the side of the road, run by a dirty fat man with a beard and a NASCAR t-shirt on. Best damn shrimp I've ever had. I picked blueberries in a field owned by an old man in a "Daddy's Little Princess" shirt and suspenders who made a couple of lewd jokes about women while I was there. Best damn blueberries I've ever had. And then there was this one guy who sat on his porch the whole time and played banjo while talking about spaceships. Best damn SNES cover art I ever had.
