I am on oxymoron's side, both consoles are very similar. The amount of difference is very smaller. With PSX for example you had better audio, with the N64 you had the fast loading. Genesis had the Sega CD add-on , SNES didn't have that. The Neo-Geo had the arcade controller. This how can I tell if a console is different, it has different capabilities.
X1 being able to record TV in the background is not a different gaming capability. Both got the camera add-on. Both system get basically same games with almost exact graphics. At least in the SNES days you had the Genesis got the blood feature on.

Your inability to understand the difference between a Playstation Eye and a Kinect proves you have no idea what you are talking about.RCBH928 wrote:I am on oxymoron's side, both consoles are very similar. You are right. The SNES didn't have the Sega CD add-on.
The NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation etc. (the list goes on and on) all had arcade sticks you could buy.

Re: Xbox One
There are similarities, yes. But they are two different pieces of hardware to achieve two completely different things.ZeroAX wrote:Your inability to understand the similarities between a Playstation 4 camera and a Kinect proves you have no idea what you are talking about.BogusMeatFactory wrote: Your inability to understand the difference between a Playstation Eye and a Kinect proves you have no idea what you are talking about.
Let's talk about similarities first and foremost. The Playstation Eye and Kinect both utilize voice activation and motion based menu navigation. They both can track a person's movement, but how they do so is different.
The differences are as such. The Playsation Eye can use the motion bar on their game controllers as a point of reference, acting very similar to the Playstation Move (which is also compatible with this Eye). The two camera set up can triangulate player position in a three dimensional space, as well as take pictures and record video in 3D. The eye is optional for the system and can be purchased as an add-on.
With the XboxOne, the Kinect can track infrared, has the ability to be used in smaller spaces now and can accurately track players closer together. It can also track minute movements of your hand, blinks of an eye etc. The Kinect is included with the system and Microsoft is pushing it as a viable source of interaction for the system and its software. It is utilized in its interactive tv features and you can see that Microsoft wants you to use it regularly for voice commands and menu interactivity.
Do you think that the Kinect and EyeToy from the PS2 are different? They both are cameras? The difference is what the companies vision as its uses. People seem to think that the two systems are the same for the most blatantly obvious reasons. They are the same because they have hard drives.....are you for real?
Marketing does make a difference. The xboxone is being marketed as a multimedia device outside of just being a gaming machine. Whether a person chooses to use it solely for games or not is their decision, not Microsofts. They are trying to branch out how the Xbox label is perceived by the media and the consumer.
Part of what you are paying for in that system is the interactive TV, the Kinect features and their online functionality. Whether you know it or not, it is a part of that price tag. Microsoft views their system as a multimedia device and different than the Playstation 4. Just because you believe differently, does not make it true.

All I know is that I'll be able to plug my Playstation 4 into the HDMI port on my Xbox One and play PS4 games with the Xbox One overlay and the ability to see friends from both friends lists at the same time. I think that's pretty cool.

How did this post not have an accompanying Yo Dawg image? As overused as that thing is, it applies perfectly here.Phades wrote:All I know is that I'll be able to plug my Playstation 4 into the HDMI port on my Xbox One and play PS4 games with the Xbox One overlay and the ability to see friends from both friends lists at the same time. Re: Xbox One
I never thought of this. How about connecting the 360 to XboxOne , that will make it backward compatible :pPhades wrote:All I know is that I'll be able to plug my Playstation 4 into the HDMI port on my Xbox One and play PS4 games with the Xbox One overlay and the ability to see friends from both friends lists at the same time.
