I just joined playstation plus for the year due to the $10 back after spending $50 promotion. I have a question i cant seem to find the answer to. Zen 2 Starwars DLC is up for free with playstation plus. The base game is free to anyone. So i donwloaded Zen 2, and then got the free (due to ps plus) DLC. My question is do i get to keep the DLC forever, even if my subsription lapses? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
anyone help?

Re: Playstation Plus question
I think you wouldn't necessarily lose it, you'd just be unable to use it until you sign back up for PS+.

Re: Playstation Plus question
The free games are tied to your subscription to PS+ if you continue to subscribe then you can access the free content but when you stop paying for it then you do not have access to it. So it is not permanent.
That is a why I made the analogy that it is similar to Netflix service as long as you pay the sub fee you can watch any movie you want but when you stop paying then you cannot access it. Is this a bad thing certainly not it really depends on what is valuable to you as a gamer.

Re: Playstation Plus question
I find that the "free" games are a nice bonus, but really the service pays for itself in discounts alone. I can't see ever dropping it, so "losing" the games because of a lapse is not a concern I anticipate.Xboxsegafan187 wrote:The free games are tied to your subscription to PS+ if you continue to subscribe then you can access the free content but when you stop paying for it then you do not have access to it. Yup. + is a no-brainer. The freebies are just icing.

Re: Playstation Plus question
I am only thinking of keeping plus for maybe a year. We will see. I mean my back log is already huge. Now with the PLUS its giving me overkill. I really got it for the discounts more than the free games to be honest. But a year from now i might change my mind.
So then it appears that i will lose the DLC than? Okay... it was funny when i downloaded the DLC the pricing changed to "FREE" in white letters and not the usual yellow letters where it says "free". So it ALMOST appears to me like i get to keep it. That is why i am asking. Maybe i will let it lapse in 1 year to find out. LOL
Thanks for the replies

Re: Playstation Plus question
You lose access to anything you download for "free" from PS+ when your subscription lapses. However, if you renew at any point (right away, six months later, whatever) you get your access back. You can always "buy" the "free" content and cancel the download so that it stays "purchased" in your download history for whenever you feel like downloading and playing. A lot of the free game offers come and go, so if you think you'll be interested in it, always snag it right away instead of waiting.env963 wrote:So then it appears that i will lose the DLC than? The full game trials that they offer can only be downloaded one time, that's the only "catch" if you will. You can't download it, play your 60 minutes, delete it and re-download for another 60. :p

Why does the vita Zen stars not have an expiration date but the other games do? On my vita.
