Who else here collects Arcade machines?

Post by alexjames01 »

I'm addicted to collecting these things. My girlfriend isn't so happy about it but just this month, I've picked up the full upright arcade cabinets/machines of:

- Altered Beast
- Golden Axe
- Mario Brothers
- Gyruss

Mario brothers is a restoration project. Has the original cab but needs a little love.

Who else here has a collection???

Man I'd love to. I keep seeing them up on craigslist, but it's hard to justify $350 for one game. Especially with MAME and all.

BTW, that's an excellent collection you have. Gyruss is freaking awesome.

I haven't paid over $175 for any of them! I only buy them if i can talk the seller down a bit. Usually they need the space so they agree.

I've been looking to get any naomi machines but havent run across any so far. I'd love to have a candy cab! I'm jealous

You know I have to chime in.

I've got few cabs, nothing dedicated. Jems of the bunch are a pair of Versus Citys and my just-recently-purchased Net City (Naomi universal). A Big Red 4-slot, Capcom woody and a US style Naomi Universal round out the collection. I had three New Astro Citys earlier in the year, but sold them to friends.

Got a local buddy that just moved in with his girl and has gotten into cab's. She gave him one room for gaming stuff. He has now stuffed a Neo-Geo 4slot (big red), two Astro's, and get this... a _pair_ of 4-PLAYER X-MEN mosters. Needless to say, there is no room right now for console gaming in there.

There was an old arcade going out of business here in town and he sold me a Neo Geo single slot cab with bust a move again. I went and picked it up it worked great, and when i got it home and plugged it in and the monitor was a bust. So i looked into prices on monitors and about crapped a brick so i got my money back (400) But he did give me a a box full of MVS carts.
They are just to hard and expensive to maintain, I still want a candy cab though :(

Right now space is definetely a premium for me, and I just can't justify bringing in any cabs at the moment. Maybe someday. I'd love to get a Timber, Rampage and the Simpsons: Arcade Game I think it'd be great fun when people come over.

I remember when I was little my friend Haley had a Ms. Pac-Man and a Donkey Kong machine at her house and at 8 years old that's about as cool as it gets.

I'd like to but space is limited (and my family would hate me) and the costs... mostly I would want a neo geo mvs but space...
