When online retailers mess up

Me too. Really, the worst that could happen is they could let you keep one copy and send you a shipping label for the other two. it probably wouldn't be worth it to resend the other package with your used copy. I guess he/she could have slipped in the wrong invoice and put on the incorrect mailing label. That's a pretty big error, but I'm always honest with poeple when they mess up, so I'm glad to see when other poeple are too. It usually come back to you or they cut a deal with you even though they lose money. Hopefully if I make a mistake like that it'd get sent to someone like Ack or myself.

Thats funny because I'm waiting for four sealed copies of Metriod. Hope they get here soon so I can donate them to kids with cancer for Christmas.... Wait a minute those might be mine!!! Just kidding, but I agree with Ack about talking with the seller. Honesty and Karma will pay you back 20 fold. They might have been bought originally for donation or some other good cause. Especially if you consider the time of year.

I once bought a hot glue-gun from Argos (crappy catalogue retailer, with the worst customer service ever, I only intended on getting, using it once then returning it claiming it was faulty! The brits on this forum will know exactly what I'm talking about here.) and they gave me their entire stock. The silly woman who brought the item out to me must have looked on the side and thought there was just one in the box (I mean, this is a large box we're talking about, with 10 separate boxed glue-guns packed inside). It was obvious that this box didn't have just one glue-gun in it, unless it was like an industrial one from the 50s or something...

Lo and behold, got it home and opened, there they were; 10 shiny glue-guns all boxed up and ready to be sold. It even had the shipping invoice in there which I promptly shredded, just in case. Banged them on ebay £5 each. £30~ profit for me!

Not exactly anything to do with this forum but I was happy with myself. Best bargain I've ever got, guilt free to boot since Argos is probably the worst retailer in the country and payback for all the shitty things they've put me through with faulty items.


But epic-win for you on the MP3 get.

Like others have already said, you have no obligation to inform the seller of the mistake. It's not your problem. If it was me I'd be getting them straight on ebay, but that's just me!

Well, that's the beauty of it. Legally, you get to keep them no matter what you do. So informing the seller gets you the karma, and you still benefit from the inventory discrepency. It's win win.

Yeah I'd ask the seller too, see what's up. I'm usually a nice guy.

However if I find cash in my dailies travels, I'll keep it.
