Lol mate this wasn't about his age. It was about a preorder.ninjainspandex wrote:I guess I had it easy as a kid, I remember going to EB games and buying GTA 3 and Vice city at the age of 14 and there were no questions asked.

At Gamestop you have to show ID for M rated games, they can be fired if you dont.ZeroAX wrote:Lol mate this wasn't about his age. Re: Grand Theft Auto V
The guy should have known that a business card isn't a form of I.D but I can understand why he didn't bring one as I've also never been asked for a I.D to pick up a preorder. The lady should have said that it was for security purposes and that they needed a official I.D such as a drivers licence. Instead she acted like a condescending asshole. In the end the guy was leaving but she had to hurl out one more insult, which pushed him a little too far. I think the main reason she acted like that was because she was getting backed up from the douche behind the camera. And if your going to act like an ass anyways, at least don't do it on camera.KDub wrote:The guy was no picnic either
Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Did she act unprofessional? Yes
Was she a jerk? Yes
Should she have shut up when he left? yes
Was he just as rude? Yes
Should he have been an adult and not some whiny child? Yes
Should he have dropped it once he got his game? Yes
Also we didn't see the whole situation so it is hard to make a really fair judgement. He could of really said some awful things to her prior to the start of the video. He could of been very calm actually...
But yes he should of been smart enough to bring a valid form of identification, you always should. Many larger retail stores require one for Mature rated games, it isn't uncommon to need one when picking up special orders from any store and you should always have one in case they card you when running a credit card.
You have no idea how many people have started yelling at me because they didn't have an ID on them when making a credit card purchase or even worse when the card name doesn't match their ID. I had a guy trash the store because I wouldn't run his "Grandma's" card to buy a PS3.
Even more hilarious is when adults act like they have never heard of needing the same credit card to make a return on a credit card purchase. Being all adult like and yelling at me and just demanding cash from the register....

^ Fair enough. I just think it wouldn't have gotten as big as it did if she didn't throw out that last insult and if the camera man wasn't backing her up. Do you know if she got fired?

Random people on the net/in the youtube comments say yes, but obviously there is little reason to believe them. Unless someone makes an official statement, no one knows.oxymoron wrote: Do you know if she got fired?
Honestly she probably will be fired. In any normal case if they guy actually complained she would get a reprimand and they would all laugh at how douchey the guy was. But since it was on camera and posted on news sites, she will probably lose her job so GS can save face.

Most of them. If you go online through your library and use something like WorldCat ... you will see games have been in public libraries since when the NES was out.CavZee wrote:What the? What kind of libraries carry games?ninjainspandex wrote:your library has GTA V??Cronozilla wrote: In the meantime I've got a PS3 copy on hold from the library ... whenever they actually buy it.
My local ones haven't been doing it long ... they started in PS2 era. Looking through some interlibrary stuff ... there's some in the midwest that have ridiculous sets of games. Sadly, you can't request electronic equipment for interlibrary loan ... or else I'd have a very cheap copy of Earthbound that I would tell them I "lost".
However, very very recently. My local library decided to carry mature games. They used to classify everything in the Young Adult section, but realize that video games aren't toys, but a medium. And as a result they have a adult section for the games along with blurays. They did the same thing with movies, before like ... 1997? Or so, they didn't carry R rated movies. But they're getting up with the times.
