IGN Game Scoop fight
Did anybody catch the Halloween episode of the IGN Game Scoop! podcast (ep. 97)? A fist fight broke out between two of the editors in the last half minute, ending the whole podcast. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Not to take a podcast about games too seriously, but I found it kind of appalling. Like, these guys are supposed to be professional journalists in a highly competitive field, and they're getting into fistfights over name-calling in the middle of a show.

Wait, what? Like they broke out into a legitimate fight, it wasn't a joke or anything? What were they fighting over?

Re: IGN Game Scoop fight
So one of the editors kept making smart-assed comments towards one of the other editor, but it seemed like it was all in jest, like the editors could potentially act like that towards each other all the time. Then at the end, he made one more comment that you can barely hear, and the guy he was teasing just lost it I guess. It sounds like he threw something, and then you can actually hear him pounding the other guy, and the guy's like "What's your problem?! What the f*ck?!"
We're not supposed to curse on this forum, right?
Anyway, I suppose it's possible that it was staged, but that wouldn't really make any sense, and it didn't sound staged, and it did END the podcast, so I'm pretty sure it's real.

Considering that many video game journalists come off as kids in adult bodies, it wouldn't surprise me if the fight was legit. I'll have to check that out. Can't pass up a good fight now can we?

I'm pretty sure it was a legit fight. It seemed too random and spontaneous not to be.
Re: IGN Game Scoop fight
I'll listen to it tomorrow at work. I heard the first half today but turned it off. I listen to most of the IGN podcasts simply to kill time, as well as a dozen other game podcasts, but I really fucking hate most of the people there. They seriously are a bunch of wisecracking little smartass brats. It's just more evidence how unprofessional the entire IGN empire is. At least Destructoid makes up for the lack of professionalism with some hilarious shit, namely from one Jim Stirling.
I hope it's real. Can't wait to hear the slap fight.

One of the guys was giving the author of the review crap about it during the entire podcast until he launched at him.
Now whether or not it was real. First thing that I question is why they wouldn't edit it completely out for pr reasons, it makes them look like a bunch of childish douches. I mean the whole podcast was filled with stupid back and forth jibes that were about the level of 8 year olds, pathetic. First time I've ever listened to that podcast and it will be the last.Well maybe one more time to find out whether or not it was real.
If your interested in listening to it, the fight doesn't breakout til the very last minute when they are talking about the blu-ray release of Get Smart(ironic movie name considering what occurs next)

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Most of these mainstream websites are a lost cause anyway.

I submit that faking such a thing as a prank would leave the same impression.Droid party wrote: Now whether or not it was real. First thing that I question is why they wouldn't edit it completely out for pr reasons, it makes them look like a bunch of childish douches.
