I'm 19 years old, and off to Syracuse University majoring in English. I've been doing a lot of retro gaming lately, mostly because I just got out of a long summer with nothing to do, and my friends and I have very competitive Punch Out bouts. I've been wanting to join Racketboy for a while, and have just finally decided to stop lurking and try my best to contribute something.

As for some things about myself; I'm an avid admirer of all fizzy drinks. I freaking love soda. My fridge is stocked with moxie and root beer and ginger beer and orange soda and anything that fizzes under the sun. I play lots of guitar, I'm a huge fan of Radiohead, wearing raglan tees, cheesy cinema (Monty Python, sci-fi spoofs) and I enjoy Walt Whitman's work.

As for gaming;

I currently own a Famicom, Super Nintendo and a Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii, a Genesis, Dreamcast, a ton of old Game & Watch systems, (does anybody care about those? I'm obsessed) nearly every GameBoy put to production, a PS1, PS2, and PS3.

I'm a pretty well-rounded retro gamer. I love fighters. Tekken is my favorite, and Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat will forever hold places in my heart. Although, as I stated earlier, right now I'm in the middle of a Punch Out obsession. RPG's are also a favorite of mine, and I'm looking to dig a little more into the weirder and quirkier JRPG's. Atlus seems like a super exciting company to me, and I'm just starting getting into the Persona series. I can't get enough of my Super Nintendo, or my Gamecube. I'm sure I'll be regularly visiting the Nintendo forums. My favorite game of all time would have to be.. Earthbound. I know, I know. Terribly original.

Thanks for reading all of this. That's all I can think to divulge at the moment. I hope I can contribute some useful thoughts and info to the forums!

Welcome aboard and let me say, I am very excited to have you here contributing! First off, don't count out those game and watch games man. I had the Octopus when I was a kid in the 80's and played the crap out of it! Not to mention that Mr. Game and Watch is my go to in Smash Bros. Brawl.

To give you a good recommendation on soda, I highly recommend Blenheim Ginger Ale. That stuff will burn a hole in your esophagus, but it will for sure clear out those sinuses.

I am a huge fighting game fanatic as well and eat up everything, but sadly, I do not enjoy Tekken. I am a huge Virtua Fighter fan and a big fan of the old school SNK fighter's like Samurai Shodown and Last Blade.

With RPGs, Atlus is a great player in the RPG realm. I also would recommend looking into Xseed's games on the Wii, they are some of the best out there. Everyone always says they love Earthbound, but just because it is Earthbound. What about you? Why do you feel it deserves the rank as your favorite?

You say you love everything Gameboy, does that carry over into the DS? What do you think of the recent 2DS announcement?

Anywho... glad to have you aboard and welcome once again!

Hi Guys, Im already a member and used to be quite active. But I went to another forum and well lets just say it didnt go well. So I came back home, Life lesson learned, stay where the nice people are!

Anyway Im old and my name is Jim, I run a website at www.gertlushgaming.co.uk where I am trying a different take on the way reviews are written and indeed read. The site is still in its early stages and I have zero skills when it comes to coding etc so its very basic.

I own a lot of consoles and having a very hyper 7 year old means a lot of them are in storage and I have to rely on emulation for nostalgia. Dont judge me!

Anyway Il be on here a lot more now and just thought its best to say hi again.

Hello my lovelies!!

My name is Shelby, I'm 21, and I happen to be (currently) a freelance artist who's attending college for Illustration. And, as you can probably already tell by my being here, I'm greatly influenced by video games of any sorts.

My favorite games are RPG's such as Skyrim, but I dislike Turn based RPG's. I also enjoy platformers, Horror, beat em' ups, Shmups (believe it or not I'm pretty gosh darn good at them!), hack n' slash, and adventure games. I enjoy FPS games when done right (I absolutely hate army games) If there's one type of game I really despise, it's MMO's like World of Warcraft. My favorite games are: Okami (my absolute favorite), Fable 2, Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout, the original spyro series, DMC4, Mario sunshine, the Castlevania series, Dodgeball (NES) Most Shmups on NES, SNES, Genesis, Ps1, PS2, and Dreamcast, and the Phoenix Wright series.
My least favorite games are: COD (all of them) Mario kart (yeah, sue me.) Spyro skylanders, spyro: A hero's tale, Spyro: enter the Dragonfly, and practically every sports game in existence. We won't count the countless NES and SNES games I hate.

One thing you'll learn about me right quick is that I have an obsession with dragons, monsters, and horror. I draw monsters and creatures on a regular basis, as well as my plethera of original characters (i own 200+ characters) And I currently have a graphic novel i have been planning for over 4 years.

Hmmm...I think that's all there is to it other than I've been dating Wrath Oskvro for 2 and a half years now...
Interested in commissioning me? please check out my Tumblr at http://shelbyhughescreations.tumblr.com and my deviantart at http://dragons-desires.deviantart.com, or my website (to be remodeled soon and updated) at http://shelbyhughesart.artsie.me to see examples of my work.

Well hello there rackeyboy.com, I first heard about this site from the great Keith Apicary, in his TC Neo Geo episode, but im sure you know about him. He says it's like a country club. I've never been to a country club before, but i heard they have great shrimp and stuff. So if someone could point towards the appetizers i'd really appreciate it. :D

Throughout my 26 years on this earth i've had a Genesis, N64, PS2, PS3, PSP & Vita, And a SNES at my grandparents house. The only time i ever got games was for my birthday or Christmas, so i don't have a huge collection for the Gen&N64. I've started to get back into retro gaming these past few years especially the Genesis. I've already seen some threads here about good games that i should get, but if you want to recommend some here that would be great. I'm actually in the market for a new Genesis model 1, since my childhood one is not working.(it powers on but i don't get any picture or sound).

Well that's it, i'll being seeing you a lot in the forums!

Don't replace it, fix it! It probably just needs a good cleaning. Try posting a thread in the Tech Help section if you need any help.
