Even stranger though, is that apparently Alex Hellid has quit the band and joined up with Ulf and Nicke to reform an older incarnation of "Entombed" and are going to perform Clandestine in its entirety.

That's really cool that the old lineup is back together but uh...so there's two Entombed's now? The classic lineup one with Alex Hellid and another totally different lineup fronted by Petrov? I am so confused. :| :| :|

I thought all the different iterations of The Misfits were at different times, though. None of them made albums or toured at the same time, did they?

well, i guess i'm thinking of that Danzing 25 thing that's been touring-ish lately. it's danzig and doyle playing misfits and samhain songs. so. i dunno.

kinda like the current (good) iteration of black flag that's led by keith morris.

I am so freaking infatuated with this band:

I just can't get enough of them. I have the first 3 albums with Christian Alvestem as the lead singer, and they are metal perfected. The last couple of albums, after the first lead-singer left, not so much though. They just aren't the same band anymore.

But I'm posting this to see if anyone that is familiar with the band, can give me some other suggestions on similar stuff. I've listened the hell out of the first 3 albums and I want more, and those last 2 albums aren't cutting the mustard.

So if anyone can give some great suggestions similar to Scar Symmetry, it would be much appreciated. :)

Can't say I'm a huge fan of that style, but based on what I've heard before I'd look into Soilwork or Into Eternity.

If you're unfamiliar with any of the "big three" of Swedish melodic death (In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquility) I'd look into those too.

I actually haven't listened to At the Gates. I do like In Flames and Dark Tranquility, A LOT. I'll definitely have to check out At the Gates when I get home from work today, thanks.

If you're looking at that particular style from ATG, then look into "Terminal Spirit Disease" and "Slaughter of the Soul." The earlier stuff, while good in its own right, is much more dissonant and straight death metal.

Also, if you want melodic but thrashier, The Crown is the shit. Can also look at The Haunted too for the same kind of thing.
