Intel cpu's seem really easy to overclock. The other week I built a media centre pc with an e1400 celeron d cpu in it. I've never overclocked before and I managed to raise the clocks from the stock 2ghz to 3ghz and it is still running cool and stable, and I've put it through the wringer to try to make it crash or overheat, and still no problems.
I agree with Moz, your video card is still adequate.
Someone recomend me a good graphics card!

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I don't know anything about crossfire, but SLI constantly has issues. I read feedback on every driver release and SLI seems to get handicapped with every other release. And on the game side, you always see in the patch notes that SLI fixes come far after the launch, if at all.mrtie wrote:Overclock the damn quadcore....seriously....Core2 clocking is so easy I can do it in my sleep 2.9-3.0 should be child's play regardless of your ram or cooler. However like others have said the 8800gt is still pretty capable of a card, I will disagree with the issues on multi-gpu's...while we still get small issues with some game by and large multi-gpu gaming is quickly becoming standard these days in the PC world, I haven't had 1 iota of an issue with my 4870's and ATI is known for having more driver issues then Nvidia does, I however have a 32 inch lcd so I actually need the 2 cards to keep things smoothly at high resolutions.

Re: Someone recomend me a good graphics card!
I always use dual GPU's merely for dual display set ups. I let each GPU handle an independent monitor. So then if I play a videogame (I don't play many PC titles) 1 GPU actually runs the game on the monitor of choice.
Though most people don't run multi-display set ups. I run 3 monitors actually (not even dual), so I guess I'm one of the special cases.

Is Crysis any good or it's just pretty much a game everyone wants cause it's more a less a playable tech demo?
Re: Someone recomend me a good graphics card!
Crysis is decent, but not mind blowing. The multiple suit modes and the general size of the levels lets you approach objectives in different ways, but it is a shooter at heart. The difference tends to be whether you stealthily kill everyone or run through the front door killing everyone.

I'm pretty much an FPS fantatic, and I got bored with Crysis in about an hour and a half. I only lasted 25 minutes on the sequel. Really boring stuff. I don't know why. For some reason I can still try FPSs from the 90's that I overlooked and enjoy them 10x more than Crysis.holaback wrote:Is Crysis any good or it's just pretty much a game everyone wants cause it's more a less a playable tech demo?

Thoughts on Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Mozgus?
Actually it would be a shame now for you to go back and play that one if you haven't, as the multiplayer was really good.

I have that on steam I believe, or maybe it's a sequel. I had no beef with what I played, but I just had all sorts of other games I was into at the time.Ack wrote:Thoughts on Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Mozgus?

Edit: By sequel I mean Enemy Territory. Do you think ET is better today, or has Quake Wars made both obsolete?
Re: Someone recomend me a good graphics card!
I'm not the biggest fan of Quake Wars, but Enemy Territory was pretty buggy when I played it. If anything, however, I'd say the surging popularity of CounterStrike and just age in general has probably killed all but the most dedicated of servers and players. It's likely that there's a small community, but most of it probably moved to Enemy Territory and then off to other things, such as Quake Wars or Battlefield 2142.

Ahhh, I remember when the multiplayer demo for RTCW came out. It was the standard beach level, but it was so much fun. Especially the flamethrower. Most awesome flamethrower I'd ever seen, with them modelling the stream that comes out before billowing. I had to stay off the FF servers.
