Is there a cat in the room?

But seriously Ryan, good for you. Not a feeling in the world beats falling and more importantly staying in love. Best wishes buddy.

:? It bothers me quite a bit seeing some of the posts being so joking about death at funerals or around those dealing with death.

:) One girl I'm good friends with said yesterday that she has "conversations with (girl I like) about how awesome I am" despite the fact that (girl I like) hasn't really talked to me much at all since I've met her. Although, she was trying to get information out of me at the time, so she might have just been manipulating me.

You were in high school at one point. Would you have appreciated someone saying you were in junior high school when you were in high school? I'm pretty sure not.

Different people deal with death different ways, and some have darker senses of humor than others.

This.

I'll always crack a joke at a funeral because when I go I want people to remember what they enjoyed about me and enjoyed doing with me, not crying and feeling worse than they need be. Seriousness and sadness are a part, but I find it's appropriate to remember someone's memory by taking the time to just have fun the way they would have. Sometimes taking some joy in knowing that I had the chance to meet them and go out and do something that reminds me of them in a positive way is a very good way to positively deal with loss.

After all, everyone's going to kick it eventually. If we can't have a laugh at our own human mortality and everything that comes with it then we're taking life a bit too seriously.

On another note:

 My Atomiswave cabinet is now fully functional! (Damn you Sammy, and your screwy colored JAMMA wiring.)

 One of my multimeter probes broke off the cord, and Virtua Racing is the weirdest game to work on, ever.

You also have to add in the fact that some people have been surrounded by death since a very young age. My first friend died at age six, my best friend committed suicide at age twelve, and that is pretty much the common trend throughout my life. I've been to way more funerals than weddings. Every casket I see I do think "Glad it isn't me" because...well I'm happy it isn't me.

Frown: THE WIZARD OF OZ is rated PG due to "Some Scary Moments". Really? THE LION KING and other Disney movies rated G involve the tragic death of a parent. Yes, flying monkeys creep me out, but Wizard should have a G rating.
