I've been playing the demo for this game, and I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

I'm mostly enjoying it so far, but I think I need to play more before I can really decide. Yet, the only way to get more is to buy the game, which I'm on the fence about.

I did check around a bit online, and it doesn't seem that anyone local is carrying it. There's 1 gamestop that has a copy in Longmont, but I don't feel like making the drive. Similarly, I'd bet anything that Game Force Boulder has it, but again, don't wanna drive over there.

So Amazon it is, but should I? Dunno. I'm usually not wishy washy about games like this. At all.

Anyone have a solid reason I should go for it?

Because its an awesome game. In my opinion, of course. And I'd love to see PDF2nd make it here next year.

But in the end, if you don't like it enough to buy, that is fine. Your call!

Well, I went back and played it again, and played it again, and I bit the bullet and bought it on Amazon.

The fact is, if I didn't dig the game, I wouldn't have considered it at all, and the more I play it, the more it grows on me.

Of the three songs on the demo, Weekender Girl and Tengaku aren't bad, but World's End Dance Hall is just ridiculously fun, and I keep going back to it (though I can't seem to do better than Great).

I also poked more into the customization menu. The first time I briefly looked at that section, I saw parts for a cat girl costume (predictable and boring, but I've never liked the cat girl thing) and moved on. But I went back in now to see if I missed anything and realized you can change full costumes and characters. I switched over to Meiko, (and also changed Hatsune's dress to "Emerald") and I really like the look of her. I thought the characters were tied to the songs, so that's pretty neat.

Now its just a matter of waiting for it to come in.

If you liked World's End Dancehall, you'll really love the rest of the track list. The second song, Secret Police, is especially bonkers.

So far my favorite song is DYE. DYE/Synthesis EXTENDED has been my favorite trance album and my favorite Vocaloid album since it came out.

Everyone in my family likes this game except my father, who thinks it is ridiculous. I started playing by myself, but eventually my brother and two sisters walked by. They all wanted to try it, and they ended up staying until they had to go to bed. Then Mom ended up playing for another hour, although it took her half of that to beat the tutorial.

Basically this game is magic. Everybody loves it.

So I watched a video of Luka Luka Night Fever in Dreamy Theater 2nd.

Project Diva F has been really fun so far, but I prefer the look of Dreamy Theater by a long shot. The characters have a lot more shape and detail. The textures and reflections are great, Luka's hair is well separated and animated brilliantly. I think the physics were a little better. Pretty much everything was more interesting to watch! It wouldn't surprise me if the current style was adopted because of the Vita's limitations rather than the PS3's strengths.

This figurine look is really unique. I'm not complaining about PDF's cel-shaded style or its much-improved videos, but if you ask me Dreamy Theater blows PDF's models out of the water. I hope to see it in another game sometime. I'm doubting it, but maybe PDF2 will allow you to switch between both styles. :?

Just wanted to say I've been playing the game a good bit (while juggling it with other titles, as usual) and I'm really enjoying it.

Its great fun, the songs are catchy and enjoyable, the videos are interesting (if occasionally too distracting during play, but I'm happy to have the watch mode), and overall I've kinda fallen in love with the game.

My one beef, is that the entire track list is great with one exception: Rin-chan Now. Its not a song, its a crime against humanity.

And I'm not saying its difficult, because its not even close. I'm saying it sucks.

But, aside from that one blight, the game is fantastic, and I'm glad I dove in.

Also, Valkyrie-Favor, watching your link I agree, the look of that game is really sharp.

Rin-chan now is hilarious. I lost because I was laughing too hard.

I understand if you don't like Rin-chan Nau as a song. It is a bit strange. But I like it. It's a nice change of pace. And it panders toward Vocaloid fans since it's about Miku and Luka's obsession with Rin.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on it then.

Setting aside my (played up) venom from earlier, I really do find it annoying and repetitive. *shrug* Oh well.

37 awesome songs out of 38 is incredible, so I'm not truly complaining.

Now I must ask though, why are Miku and Luka obsessed with Rin? Is there a precedent for it before this song?

Not sure. I don't know the Vocaloid fandom that well. There is a version for Len too. Len-kun Nau instead of Rin-chan Nau.

Keep in mind that Vocaloid songs and art work are almost entirely fan created. So there are many songs that portray the characters differently. I think it is 'Acute' (also in PDF) that is about a love triangle between Miku, Luka, and Kaito. They don't really have any set in stone stories. The fans create stories for them
