Weigh in suckas.
So...Looking forward, as in five years forward, should money be spent on a few seconds of super heroes eating sandwiches and such?
Do you sit through credits in the hopes of a credit cookie, or do you already know there is one?
Do you think the credit cookie are worth waiting for?
Should the trend of Credit cookies continue?
Do you feel like "more of a fan" since you watched the credits?
Are you tired of having to wait to get two seconds of extra footage?
Please send feedback.
As far as I'm concerned, Ferris Bueller nailed it with "Go home!". The lead up to the Avengers was neat, but they could have tacked that stuff pre-end roll, as I don't think it earned them multiple viewings...but I see things in $'s and Cents.
Same thing goes for dvd Easter Eggs with me. I don't care about them. Yup, they're neat, but don't add any value,
SO! Do you stay after the credits, in a theater, in hopes of Credit Cookies?

Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
I did with other groups of friends, but the ones I see movies with now are always in a hurry to escape the theater it seems.

Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
I studied film in college and was pretty serious about it, I feel like watching the credits are an important part of the experience; it allows you to readjust back to reality while see who did what in a film and listen to some music. Sometimes the credits can be illuminating, like when you realize that the director performed one of the songs in the movie or when you notice that there's a digital matte painter even though one might have assumed the movie was made totally without visual effects.
GUYS, I'M KIND OF A SNOB SOMETIMES.
I use the "credit cookies" when watching movies with friends to convince them to stay with me and watch until the end.
They generally don't matter much to me because they're usually in movies I don't care much about to begin with.
...although I do remember being very confused by the second Pirates of the Caribbean apparently using the "post-credits gag" (which I missed) as a plot point? F that.

I wait on superhero movies, if I don't already know there is one or not.
Do you think the credit cookie are worth waiting for?
Sometimes.
Should the trend of Credit cookies continue?
I like em.
Do you feel like "more of a fan" since you watched the credits?
No.
Are you tired of having to wait to get two seconds of extra footage?
Not really.
EDIT: The most recent one I watched was at the end of THE WOLVERINE GOES TO JAPAN and I really enjoyed it and it was a nice way to get me excited about DAYS OF FUTURE PAST or whatever the f it's called.

Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
I like them but the Avengers kind of pissed me off putting 2 extras at the end
. Found out about the swarma(no idea how it is speeled) scene a week after I watched the movie and had to watch some crappy bootleg footage on youtube to see what I had missed.
Ended up seeing the movie a second time anyways though since during my first viewing the guy behind me fell asleep and his snoring was so loud that everyone in the theater was pissed by the end
. We couldn't keep him awake or get any staff to drag him out :X.
Second time I had to suffer through a pack of elementary schoolers who wore strobe light shoes and couldn't sit still
, but at least I could hear the dialogue
.

I personally like credit easter eggs, but it is really annoying to find out there is one after you left the movie and didn't know there would be one. Then again it wouldn't really be an easter egg if they told you there was going to be something. I'd purpose if there is going to be something of substance to see, at least entertain your audience with something other than the usual black screen with credit text for 4-5 mins...

Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
One thing that really annoys me is when movies with credit cookies are shown on television they usually cut off the credits + extra scenes. Hell until last summer I didn't know about the extra scene in X-men 3 the last stand.8bit wrote:

Was talking to a co-worker about Days of Futures Past and was kind of confused at how it would fit into the movie series with the Dr.X incident from 3 and he was like oh you didn't see the scene at the end. I had seen the movie about 4-5 times but only on television after seeing it all those times I do not once remember them ever showing that bonus scene :X.
Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
If it's the kind of movie that has had one in the past, then usually I will, though it'd depend on who I went to go see the movie with.Luke wrote: Do you sit through credits in the hopes of a credit cookie, or do you already know there is one?
Not especially, but for what a theater ticket costs, might as well sit there.Do you think the credit cookie are worth waiting for?
I'd rather the not put them after all the credits.Should the trend of Credit cookies continue?
Not really, no.Do you feel like "more of a fan" since you watched the credits?
Depends on how long I have to wait. I tend to like the style that do something special for the initial section of credits - lot of Pixar/Disney movies, Pacific Rim, that kind of stuff, and then stick a little extra scene in before the bulk of the credits. Are you tired of having to wait to get two seconds of extra footage?
Needing to sit there for every last thing to scroll by...that I can do without.
DVD/Blu-ray features can depend. Personally, I'd trade some of them for having an immediate menu when inserting the disc. I do not want to pay $30 for some four disc collector's ultimate diamond edition (in 3D!) and then have to fast-forward through previews. They want to put 'em on the "rental" edition they send to Netflix, fine.Same thing goes for dvd Easter Eggs with me. I don't care about them. Yup, they're neat, but don't add any value,
Re: Focus Group Question: Credit Cookies
Great feedback guys. Thanks.
I'm still fascinated to see the amount of names (and companies) involved in each and every film. It's also neat to see a friend's name in the credits once in a while.
I've thought the same thing since I was a tike, but for different reasons. Even with terrible movies I'll watch the credits.Nemoide wrote:I feel like watching the credits are an important part of the experience...
