Probably one of my coolest finds today. I found a silver Game Boy Light for 12 bucks at Savers. Had no idea these things go for over 100 online. Was about to pass it up too as I thought it was just an ordinary game boy pocket.

I saw this, and it was good. I don't care too much about physical media with music CDs, but Kanno Yoko is a genius, and I'm glad to see you like the soundtrack enough to own the albums. The tracks that they left off of those albums are far too good, though.

You brought the point yourself up. For current gen, there is around lets say 100m active users of ps3/360 (I know combined they are 140m or so). Now compare that to the number of active users of SNES/Genesis consoles. Now put into consideration that most(or all) of these games are emulated on consoles and PCs through VC and PSN. That even takes out more of the market. Then we can add in the remakes, people who got the nostalgia to play the older games then find them in 2.5D on PSN or their iPhone (I personally got Broken Sword on iPad. No need to buy the PSX or PC version, I even think it was free on a 1 day marketing campaign) . And at the very end you got people who feel they just should not pay for a game that was released in '93 when they can pirate it for free, as the copyrights owner probably doesn't care any more. In fact, the console that runs the game no longer is manufactured on the opposite of pirating something like GTA5 today. Wasn't there a rule on Underground Gamer that 7+ years are "safe" games?

I do agree that retro videogame stores can survive but if they are far and few in between, so each could have a worthwhile profits. But for the reasons above , and places like Ebay, Craiglist, and even Racketboy b/s/t will be very difficult for brick-and-mortar stores to exist. At least thats my point on the subject.

I am not sure how it works in America, but I rather go to the local dedicated gaming shop to purchase a game than make the drive to the huge Target/Best Buy store to pick up a game.

Well they got shut down anyway, so obviously it wasn't as "safe" as they thought.

But they do exist, and they aren't uncommon.

Here are the PSP pickups from the pawnshop raid yesterday. Paid $20 total.

They are literally days away from opening their 3rd location . All they have left is to unboard the windows they already repainted the building, repaved the parking lot, put up a huge sign over the door and in the parking lot, added a new entrance plus windows, and as of today added Red Neon lights to the exterior .

Got all of this for $27 after taxes. The Conduit is Special edition with an extra artbook and Sega Super Star Tennis was a two pack with Xbox Live Arcade. All are CIB except for Chromehound(Missing manual) and Worms Open Warfare(Had Open Warfare 2 UMD )



Actually just about went back in over Open Warfare 2 but the clerks were in training and the manager was already all over their asses bitching about how every single person through the door needs to be constantly hounded about trade ins because "only 20% of our customers know we do that" and "you should not have a single trade in flyer left at the close of each day" . Felt sorry for them so I just let it be still wasn't a bad deal at $2.69.

One thing eBay, Craiglist and Racketboy BST can never offer is a face to face and getting to browse/examine games in person. When I had a shop near buy they dealt with retro games I made a trip there often just to browse. It's not the same experience online, not at all. Also, a shop can offer other services like repairs/mods, tournaments, parties, not just strictly buying and selling.

Well around here it generally works like this: You're lazy so you go to which ever store is most convenient. If you're a mom that was shopping in Wal Mart anyway, that's where you're buying little Timmy the new Pokemon game. If you're school is right down the road from the local Game Stop, that's where you're going after school to buy GTA5. Around here, there's a Game Stop in almost every other town. At one Game Stop, you're no more than 10-15 minutes from the next Game Stop. Likewise, where ever you live, you're 5-15 minutes from a big chain store like Target, Wal Mart, K-Mart, etc. You're no more than 30 minutes from a Best Buy or PC Richards. All these big stores really dominate.

I'd rather go to the local game shop too, but that's just me. I'm in the minority. I'll support a small business whenever I can, even if it costs me a few more dollars.
