actaully i not a huge fan of either. I actually like McCain as a senator here in AZ....but not for president of the USA, especaily with Palin on board.
I would vote for Obama, but this weekend I got five separate "Get out and vote" calls, half for the presidential election, half for the gubernatorial election. They pissed me off, so I'm going to stick it to them by staying at work on Tuesday.
Plus, I live in Washington, so Obama winning is a foregone conclusion.

I don't understand the logic of not voting=sticking it to them. Do you really think it sends some kind of message? If so, what do you think you are arguing? Do you think that "they" care?
On the other hand, I can understand not caring about your presidential vote in a state that is a foregone conclusion - but aren't your state and local elections worth voting on? They will probably have more of a direct impact on your life than the presidential election will.
It sends them a great message here in the UK since the voting turn outs are pretty appalling and they know the whole thing falls on its arse if enough people dont vote.
Choosing not to vote is still a valid political stand point and does not mean that I dont beleive in democracy - just that sometimes the choices are too dire.

It puts me in a statistic. X people voted for Obama, Y people voted for McCain, Z people didn't vote (who were elligible). Voter turnout is a big deal, and I can appreciate the fact that they want to get it up. However, I don't feel I should be getting phonecalls at my apartment asking me to vote.

Obama, for a plethora of reasons. Sometimes people, like my mom, don't vote because the choices are terrible, like they were in 2000 and 2004. I know she voted for Ronald Reagan in 1984, and I think she voted for Bill Clinton for his second term.

Like I said in another thread, there are groups out there that see the mass quantities of people who aren't voting, and the larger it gets, the greater the chance is that they'll take advantage of it, hopefully with ideals that the existing parties don't offer. Voting for someone you dislike less than the other is fucking stupid, destructive, and unpatriotic.
